Hi there, I'm new here and also new to the game, but I'm loving it so far. This is also my first miniature game, and I've recently decided to fool around with repainting. Most of the repaints I'm working on right now aren't really based on anything specific, I'm just kinda making them up as I go along. This week, on an exciting episode of Pimp My TIE, a standard TIE/LN gets ready for a dance competition with a new paint job and hydraulics.

To make room for the Sound System and Aquarium we removed these pointless lasers.

I made a rebel themed "Blood Squadron" also.

Good lad!! I like to see people going for it paint wise, I wouldn't worry about cannon, make up what u like!

One quick tip, look into washing the red squad, it's like free detail on these models!

Thanks for the tip. The only "Wash" I have right now is am amazonian green, which wouldn't look quite right. I'm thinking about buying one, or just mixing the black I have with some water, but I was too tired tonight to do any more. I'll probably do more tomorrow. =)

Oww, a chrome one would b quite nice.I have done cool ideas but need some time to plan them properly an need my advanced and bombers in my had to make sure the theory carries over!

And I mixed black and water to create my own wash for the Blood Squadron. Turned out a little bit darker than I wanted, but I still think it came out ok.

I've been thinking about this myself, and might do one just for grins.. how cool would all that reflective surface be in space.. lol.. like the Naboo ships.., I love those mirror-like chrome shines..

Just my opinion:

I like the Purple Tie, though I think the darker red would look even better.

I liked both the pre and post wash Blood Squadron. They are a bit dark, but I do think they look better after a wash to darken.

Do they originate from Alderaan and seek to avenge the innocent blood spilled perhaps?

I like both of your repaints. Honestly, go nuts with painting these things: people here love to see new versions of old favourites, including myself.

You know what I haven't seen yet on these forums? A repaint of the x1 Advanced. I'd really be curious to see what you could come up with for that. :3

I have a red on Leo.. lol.. did it earlier last year.. I'll try to get a picture of it.. and the Rodent has a repaint of one as well.. check his painting thread.. early on.. page.. 5 or so..maybe..

I am known a bit for some Eldar I painted in Rimmel Nail Varnish, Eldar in flick paint look great, but a pain to paint with as they are SO thick.
