What kinda of builds can you come up with, rebel or empire, just to have fun, I like making the points so high so you can either fit in a bunch of named pilots with upgrades or have a gigantic tie swarm or something. Just for fun to play at home or with your buddies. I'm excited to see what people come up with.
250 pt epic battle build for friendlies
I generally have a rule in larger battles of only 100pts (per player) of any ship type (plus their upgrades). I feel it keeps things fair, as most people collect up to 100pts of a ship to play tournaments, this means that someone can't buy 20 Ties to get an advantage.
Edited by Rodent MastermindThat's why I said for fun, I mean how fun would it be to have Luke and Han with wedge and tycho against a large swarm of ties it would be fun, this is just for fun not tournament style or anything.
Well, alright.

You could add a second academy pilot haha
In larger battles, I like to group my squads by ship type and fly them accordingly. Sometimes I put a hero of two in each squad, sometimes not. The last time I did this I put my a-wings on the left, y-wings and yt in the center, and x-wings on the right.
I shot my a-wings through the enemy lines to disrupt, confuse and hold the enemy, and shoot from behind. I used my turret weapons to strafe the enemy lines from right to left and weaken ships. Then my X-wings pushed the enemy's left flank to engage the weakened ships. I ended up losing red squadron early on due to excellent interceptor attack dice results, which affected teh game results.
I thought the strategy was sound.
Next time I do this I will group the hawks with the turret group but I'm not sure where to put the b-wings. I only have two, so far. Part of me thinks to put both of them with the x-wing group. Another thought is to put one with the a-wings to provide heavier fire support. It wouldn't last long there though.
Huge games are awesome.
By putting one with the A-wings you lose the speed of the A-wings if you are using the B-wing for fire support. The A-wings will outpace your B-wing leaving it alone to be picked off. A good Imperial will ignore A-wings unless they have missiles, and B-wings are priority targets.
Well, alright.

I second the notion that big games are fun. we often do 200 points per side, and the support ships really seem to pay off in the bigger battles, in part because they live longer. Using a 4 bomber wing with Jendon and a couple of escorts becomes not only viable, but effective
Hosting a big game today. 300+ points.
I have no idea the total number of points that will be fielded today. We are playing for the "Domination Campaign" hosted by the local game store, Little Big Wars in West Fargo, ND. Three factions will be fighting, that much is for sure. Me, I'll be pirates again.

Just to point out to you all,
most deaths in Africa by wildlife attacks are in fact by Hippo's....
Ok continue ![]()
We only had four people show up for the game today. Each person fielded 100 points. Two imperial players, on rebel player, and I played pirates. I teamed up with the rebel player and fought the imps. Imps won. They earned 2 victory points for their faction. If the rebels and the pirates would have won, I would have turned on the rebels and tried to claim 3 victory points. Victors get one victory point for every 100 points of opposing factions which have been destroyed. The rebel player was all like, "if we win we can each have a victory point." I was all like, "yeah [till I kill you and take all the points]."
Well, alright.

As a counter to this,I've come up with this:
+Han Solo + Veteran Instincts + Assault Missiles + Luke Skywalker + Recon Specialist (62)

+Chewbacca + Push the Limit + Cluster Missiles + Gunner + Navigator (57)

I would recommend switching the assault missiles and cluster missiles. Chewy will move before Kagi gets into range, allowing you to target lock the best target. Once Kagi gets into range, you MUST target lock him, so he may not get in range 1 of another shuttle. Han, on the other hand, will let you reroll the dice for each cluster missile, helping to maximize each attack. Further, since his target will pretty much have to be Kagi due to his high PS skill, you want the raw damage.
I should point out that gunner doesn't particularly help you against my list. The ORS can probably use it, but the shuttle's low agility means that it will almost never proc. It's great against high agility targets and would make your list more viable against other lists, but the points are pretty much wasted against all but the TIE Fighter. ![]()
Interesting list though. I like it.
