let me edit that they are pimping it up a lot with a couple of new quests.

I said before they should do that I do think it's good they made it an add on for people who already have the models in 1st edition.

I'm sure some will moan because the release speed is epic.

I don't mind so much personally.

Those new sculpts look pretty awesome. Almost makes me sad that I already have all the 1E figures from the good old days.

I'm among those who was wishing FFG would slow down the expansions a bit, but maybe if they're investing a certain amount of time into these rehash packs, the actual new material will be spaced out a bit more (maybe.) In that way, perhaps I'm getting what I wished for after all. =)

I'm going to need someone to transcribe the fluff from those new quests so I can milk them for my Runiverse Fluff docs though. =P

I'm super stoked for these. I was working on collecting the original DE1 stuff, particularly monsters, so a re-release of them makes it that much cheaper for me, especially since of the new models, they definitely seem cooler than the original molds.

I had no idea what the OP was talking about. Then... I saw it. I'm in awe, so happy! Shiver is one of my all-time favorite heroes (not a HUGE fan of his redesign), so I'm psyched his character is being brought back and fleshed out!

Beastmen are must-have monster groups so I'm very happy they and bane spiders are back. A little sad that Nagas aren't getting the remake treatment just yet, but I think they'll pop up sooner or later (along with medusae, please!). The bane spiders look terrifying.

I'm very excited about this expansion. I'm big fan of rumor cards. They add alot of diversity to the game. New "old" monsters casts look epic. Can't wait to see new kobolds in next monster and hero expansion.

Right and I almost forgot to say it :

Well, as happy as i am im raging a little right now. Having tracked down the first edition stuff (having taken a lot of time and money) on the basis that the conversion kit stuff was not going to be coming back anytime soon if ever........

Need to get these figures as the sculpt quality is so much higher.

Wonder if they may update some of the characters from the conversion kit to address a few issues.

Just a quick bit of thinking means that if these sell well (and they almost certainly will) i would hazard between 8-12 packs of these based on the number of heroes and monsters available in the conversion kit.

God **** my completionist needs. My poor wallet.

On the other hands 16-24 new quests sounds excellent!

Do these heroes also have their own class deck?

Or are they just the mini's and the hero card?

Either way, this makes me very happy, especially regarding the monsters.

I would have like if they announced that 1 year ago. I would not have hunted down all these D1 minis.

First of all sorry for possibly bad english but i am writing from Bavaria, Germany.

i really dont get it.... why did ffg make that ? it only interesting for people who dont have D1 stuff. I got everything from d1 so i probably wont buy it. If they make re-design of old monsters and heroes, it would cost the same to make boxes with 3 new monsters and 4 new heroes, and that would by interesting for alle D2 players, no matter if you have D1 or not you would buy the monster/hero sets. But in this case not all of the D1 owners will buy this stuff.

And i read of many people that bought upgrade kit or D1 stuff on ebay, and all of them are mad as hell now. So FFG why did you make old stuff instead of making new stuff for the same costs ?

It does not look like they are including a new class. This is just a way for people to people to access stuff that was only available via 1st Edition. What's interesting is that it looks like they even upgraded Shiver's Health from 8 to 10. I'm curious what other small tweaks have been made.

Wow! Keep them comming FFG. I'm very glad of this annuoncement.

First came the solo/cooperative adventure - that made me very happy. I can't wait to try it out becouse it sounds like a lot of fun. And when it comes out I can play Descent when ever I want even when alone. Superb!

And now this one, thank You FFG! I have all my figures from 1e but I will still buy this one and the next ones. Not only for the new great looking sculps but also for more balanced monsters & heroes. Of course also for those new quests.

For me this game is evolving very fast and comming out very fast - it's amazing and I hope it will stay this way! I'm very happy that almost every month I'm getting something new for this game and can buy me some new stuff for Descent 2nd. Descent is growing bigger and bigger and with every expansion is getting better and better. Thank You FFG, keep those comming!

PS. Hero & Monster Collection is an updated and more balanced then the conversion kit - as designers say. So thet's maybe why Shiver has more HP and Bane Spider is a ranged attacker now. I'm very glad thet they decided to balance those heroes and monsters more becouse sometimes it was very unbalaced - some where very weak and others too strong. And those expansions will not have any new classes as I can read from the description & annuncement pages. Each pack will be 4 heroes, 3 or more monsters groups and 2 quests - nothing more.

Oh, and it looks like the 4 heroes in every collection set will have one heroes from each archetype.

Question is; if many monsters and heros have been rebalanced, how will they FAQ/Errata this?

Same here, and i'm a bit disapointed.

But i must admits some monsters needed new sculpts, and almost all heroes; Hope some heroic feat will be rewrite too (like challara so Brightblaze can make a breath of fire attack)

Maybe I'm just being clueless, but how does a single monster count as a group? Does the set actually contain three groups, or three single monsters?

Hahaha... I am in exactly the same situation! I wouldn't mind if they did just the Promo and DQ stuff again, I didn't manage to get my hands on those

I hope it's a typo. When they say monsters groups, I understood it was going to be: all the beastmans needed to play,etc

If it's just 1 beastman mini, it's going to be terrible.

Simple. Old ones will be errated with new ones text.

If most of the monsters are reworked, it's going to get messy. 3 pages of faq only for monsters and heros.

I would assume they include the full complement of monster figures...but this is something to check before buying.

Another thing to check is for coins under the sofa...how am I ever going to afford all this? Maybe I'll find a Stamina Potion there, and can sell it for its Gold.

Agree with Ringskipper, Its illogical they sold only one monster of each type in a box. Am pretty sure they mean 7 different scultures.
