Its nice they are planning to release animal based monsters in first pack. I realy like it .
Edited by Bladenwhat the flip???????? New Expansion..........
As long as it's not just 7 figures and the price isn't sky high, like it is for the lieutenants... I'll be getting these.
35$ and there should be 4 heroes, and 11 monsters

that isn't the end of the world, much better value than the lieutenants, having said that valyndria is such a gorgeous model.
That's not a bad deal!
Yep, at that price point I'm willing to get a couple. I really want more monster variety in my games.
The lieutenants should get bundled up too! At this same price!!!
Valyndria does look amazing.
Looks like they fixed the press release. Now that's way better.
...With fifteen figures...

I don't know, it look a bit too high for me when you consider an expansion like tomb of ice with 6 heros + 21 monsters + tiles, tokens, rules, etc was sold for 60$.
Descent + all expansions had a total of 48 heros and 25 monsters groups.
That means we can expect between 8 and 12 of these packs. Which represent a lot of cash
Edited by BagdadYeah, it is expensive! Yet, compared to the Lieutenants we are getting a bargain here!

I'll almost certainly get this, but it would be nice if there were at least new classes to go with the heroes. Hopefully they won't really make 12 packs, but you'd think they might make at least three, and some extra rules content could sweeten the deal for that $100 of my money.

Yes, and the bulk of that $60 was the 6 plastic heroes and 21 plastic monsters. Cardboard is cheap. Ink is cheap (in bulk.) The costs of labour for all the employees involved in writing rules, playtesting, marketing and so on probably accounts for a descent chunk, too. But the plastic is the biggest material cost.
That's why "figures only" still ends up being relatively expensive.

Not gonna argue with you there. =P
12 packs at ~ $30 a pop would be $360. Out of curiosity, how does that compare to the prices the old figs were going for on eBay prior to this announcement? I have a suspicion that people who really want all the 1E figs are probably still getting a good deal.

I know where you are coming from, but I don't think it actually fares that well if you take into consideration the actual number figs and postage costs overall.
To be fair, they should allow the purchasing of the other components separately for those who bought the conversion kit that would be rendered useless in the future. As you stated, the plastic is the expensive part so the other components should be freely available.

Well, some of the D1 expansions are still availables new in stores for 60$.
As for the older ones, I saw them between 60 $and 200 $ depending on the language you choose .
Buying minis separatly was costing way too much. I saw some Ice wyrm at 40$!!! This is ridiculous. Imagine all this money not going into FFG wallet. That's probably the reason why they decided to re-release theses.
I will probably get a few, but depending on the price I will be selective. I think I would more inclined to get them if they had more encounters, two seems a little slim.
Also I am assuming it doesn't come with any new tiles, at least it doesn't say it comes with any. I find that a little odd considering one of the new encounters is ice themed.
Would like to see new tiles but wont get annoyed if we don't get any. Will be interesting to see how these quests play out, have a feeling they might be good one shot epic play ones, don't think they will integrate to well into a campaign but i can hope other wise,
