Needs help with making Hutts

By Theroleplayer, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Hey Im about to be the GM for the first time in this game and i already have an idea for what the campaign is going to be about, but i find it hard to make my own characters.. Especially Hutts

So I need some help with making my Hutt not too overpowered and not too underpowered. Plus i would appreciate any tips on how to make other NPCs.

Here is what i want my Hutt to be:

He is a somewhat young Hutt who wants to make a name for himself. He doesn't really have that many credits (only enough to supply the players with a ship and basic equipment) and needs the help of the players to make him rich and infamous.

(The basic Hutt Crime lord in the advesary is just "too good" to fit him)

So can you help me make his stats?

Thanks in advance :)

Is this character primarily just an element of the story you're going to use? If so, in my experience it's usually better to not give stats to such characters, and just use them as an in game extension of the GM.

I intend to use him as a sort of recurring character. But i need him on a NPC sheet with stats and all. :)

You could use the Hutt Lord (Nemesis) outline in the Adversaries chapter; that tends to be very well-balanced with PCs, particularly starting ones. If it's too strong, though, you can just roll back some of the skills and one or two of the characteristics.

Ah, okay. In that case, I'd have to agree with CaptainRaspberry's solution. If there are some stats on the Hutt Lord you don't really think fit your character, just tweak them a little.

Ah okay thanks :)

I stopped full writing up NPCs a long time ago, when one of the main adversaries died in the first encounter and was thrown down a shaft. Now i just fudge things or use ones in the back of the book
