A Rogue Trader's Borrowed Regiment

By Marwynn, in Only War

My Rogue Trader game's about to start, so I decided to put on some finishing touches to the regiment that will be housed in the bowels of the Blessed Enterprise .

The Ecclesiarchy is footing the bill for the equipment (by donations from other people, encouraged by various priests) in exchange for, well... Let's say a lot.

(I don't get to keep them after establishing a few things, but I'll be playing with them for at least 3-4 sessions so I'll be submitting this to the main GM.)

I hope I did that right, I used Hammer of the Emperor a bit as well.
The Merovech Assault Lasgun is S/-/5 1d10+3 E with a 50m range. Seems kinda neat, it comes with its own underbarrel mono knife too.

You forgot about the second favoured weapon.

I'm not sure that you can exchange your main weapon for Shield and Laspistol, and then upgrade the Laspistol again...
Then again, it's not like you'll be able to use the shield with your Lasgun, and if you switch, there's the question of using hunting lances while on foot. If that's not possible one-handedly (which I strongly suspect is the case), you'll be stuck with shield and mono-knife. Hey, it's not the worst choice in house-to-house, I'm sure. ;)

For the Hunting Lance, are you sure you can get both types of tips?

****, the recoil gloves really are that common Oo

And you forgot to list the drawback from Cult of Chivalry.
I didn't check your point totals, but I trust you to be able to do basic maths :)

I think it looks quite flavourful. Cool :)

Thanks, yeah I don't know what to put there. Perhaps a Heavy Flamer? These guys aren't that well-trained apart from gang tactics.

I don't think the weapon replacements are legal, it says "Replace laspistol (Main Weapon) with..." but hey, it's not a real IG regiment. Won't the Recoil Gloves let you use a Basic weapon one handed?

Also, the Hunting Lance is described as a one handed weapon and since it's an explosive attached to a stick, I figure the length of said stick was up to you. I think of it as the last resort weapon since I don't trust these guys to throw properly!

The totals are 15 - 3, I think, and you're right about the drawback thanks.

A lance as one-handed?! Barely, if you can brace it against yourself while riding, but on foot... With the recoil gloves yeah, alright~ish.
But RAW you're absolutely right. -.-

Heavy Flamer would be fitting, yeah. Or maybe Tread Fethers, as a nod to their otherwise lacking AT firepower. With Inaccurate and such it would represent their low training well.

Oh yeah, that's true. Nice combo you found, then!

You're welcome!
