Upcoming game against a friend of mine and both of us are relatively new at this. I posted suggestions for my squadron elsewhere, but I'm left with two points and so I was wondering whether you'd go with Swarm or Squad Leader. I'm sure it's been asked before but thought that some of you might be able to point out particulars with this squadron.

For review, my squadron:

Biggs, Wedge, Green x2 with PTL.

Biggs and Wedge go together while Green zips around. Biggs is back from Wedge to cause the enemy to split fire.

Seems like Swarm makes sure Biggs gets his shots, but I'd think Squad leader to make sure has Target Lock and Focus up in the same turn might be better, especially if the Awings end up close enough to be an option for Squad Leader as well.

Personally I would go with squad leader. Seems like the better choice since you can use it to help focus biggs, either for attack or defense. Defense would be better for biggs imo. You have wedge already for offense. And you have green squadron pilot as more of a decoy per se. Protecting biggs for as long as u can is the key but he will come to his dimise sooner than later so I wouldnt waste many points on him. So if you do try out squad leader with that whole setup, please let me know how it fared. I am kinda interested.

Edit: I misread and didn't see you were running two green squadron pilots. Still I am interested in how well it does.

I normally run Biggs with R2-F2. so Leader makes sense on Wedge or Luke for passing actions to Biggs.

Under the build you have I would say Swarm so you can pass of PS if your A-Wings need to shoot first or have a better shot.

Other options could be R2's for both or an R5 on Biggs. K6 maybe of some benefit on Wedge so you don't need to TL as often for actions.

or Trade Wedge for Luke + PTL or some other 3pts upgrade.

NOTE: if you do pick leader remember Wedge would move after Biggs and the A-Wings. so if you time your PTL wrong before leader you cannot pass to the A-wings. and Leader also is an Action.

Thanks for the last note. So, you're saying I couldn't PTL and add an action to an A-Wing? I hadn't really thought about that.

I'm not sure I'll change the list all that much the first time around to be able to get a droid or two, but in the future I definitely might.

you can PTL and add an action to an A-wing but the order it would need to be in is:

• A-wing moves then action(1)
• Wedge moves activates Leader
• Free Action(2) given to Awing
• Free Action Procs PTL
• PTL grants another Free Action(3)
• then gives stress

If you PTL your A-Wing before Wedge moves the Leader action cannot give that a-wing a 3rd free action because the "cannot perform actions while stressed" rule.
