has any one used a 3 - Firespray list

By KILODEN, in X-Wing

if you have, how did it go?

i only have 2 right now, was wondering if it was worth getting another

thanks in advance

it's a powerful list

i ran it in a regional tourney and placed 2nd losing only to a han shoots first list that took first place and in two of my other three games i didn't lose a single ship and only losing one ship in the third game

also you get 2 more stealth devices which are always nice

but the list can be beat and most likely won't do as well as it did during the regionals because most people are aware of it's power and build lists around being able to defeat it

i believe i only did as well as i did at the time because i had the element of surprise on my side and nobody in my playgroup saw it coming

how DO you build against it?

interceptors for one example

a friend of mine built a list with soontir fel, 2 saber squadrons and howlrunner, all with push the limit and absolutely destroyed me without losing a single fighter.. granted i couldn't hit the broad side of a barn that day, but a secondary game we played he defeated me again with only losing 1 interceptor

they are highly maneuverable and just barrel roll their way out of the arcs.. that pilot skill of 3 and the large bases are the only downfall to the list

swarm lists can also destroy the firesprays

I run Krassis w/ Heavy Lascannon, Turr, and 2 ties. It runs really well. I have yet to fight a b- wing swarm though.

I've run a squad of three bounty hunters and it was pretty good fun. I had three games at a local event - one vs A-wings and a B-wing, one versus two X-wings and two A-wings, and one versus Vader and an interceptor pack.

It did pretty well each time. The main strength is that the firespray is **** tough but still gets two defence dice - it's essentially a super-X-wing with double hit points. Those rear guns help massively - meaning you can get out of pulling K-turns and stressing yourself too much; I was firing backwards as often as forwards.

The big weakness is really manouvrable elites; unlike a YT-1300, you do have blind spots - big ones - and you need to fly your ships to cover one another, and flying. a few asteroids close together can make it a real bugger to get a large ship through.

Try it, though, it's great fun!
