Utah players

By Eyeless1, in X-Wing Organized Play

For those of you who don't know there is a facebook group the 181st Imperial Fighter Group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/653951051337670/

Also a few of us are putting together a 'Utah's Aces - Catch of the Day' tournament.

The Boardgame Revolutions in SLC will be hosting it. We're trying to get enough people to make it doable.

Here is the post;

Hey everyone we are going to be putting together a tournament on a saturday in July and going to be having the HUGE ships as prizes, 1st place will get a Tantive IV, 2nd place will get a Rebel Transport, 3rd will be a custom painted Slave 1 ship. Please vote for the day that would work best for you to come. we are planning to have it at BGR in SLC.
cost would only have to cover the ships, so 14 people at $10 each and the more people show up the cheaper the entry fee!

Sorry was off at the doctors. Will not play in the Tourney as I've only a 1/2 dozen games under my belt. But I think I'll try and make it next month.

Oooh, I'm in West Point! You still looking for someone to play?

In Utah County, Dragon's Keep /was/ doing Star Wars on Wednesday nights (LCG and X-Wing), but that died down when Andrew left (he really pushed the boardgame scene for DK). Boardgame Revolution does an organized event every Saturday night, 4pm to whenever. There's usually prize support, depending on how many people show up. $5 buy-in is the typical, and it's a friendly lot (at least, I /hope/ we're a friendly lot). BGR is looking to see what interest there is in a long-term tournament (one or two games a week for a couple months). I'm not sure what Blakfyre games has in the way of organized events.

In SLC, I've gone to Game Haven for their tournaments. They tend to have a good turn out. The Imdaar at Game Night Games was pretty good too, though I'm not sure what other events they host. Boardgame Revolution has a new store in SLC that does a weekly X-Wing night that a lot of regulars go to. And Hastur Games has a lot of table space, though I don't know if they do anything organized.

Oh wow I didn't know Andrew left DK. Makes sense, as I haven't really heard much from that store in a long while.

I swear the largest X-Wing get together they had happened on my first time at that store for the Store Championship. Large enough to post photos from the event on their FB page, and nothing since.

Dude, we need to play another 2v2 game -- this time an epic game with the CR90 and transport. Just, you know, as long as it doesn't go until 1:30am again while my little boy is there.

Kids, pfft, who needs sleep?

I live in Kaysville and they used to have a night at the comic book store here but they stopped. Would love to find a place to play. I just have a core set and a moldy crow.

Hey, so we started a group here in the Provo Dragons Keep on Thursdays. Please usually start playing around 6:30pm. Its the same night as DBZ TCG and 40k so lots of good peeps around. We have been usually going downstairs, but its not a set spot. Most of us are noobs but when we get into a game, we start buying the whole store :P If you are layback and want to play relax fun games then please feel free to come by :)

I just called dragons keep in provo to confirm. Players still come each thursday starting around 6. I am a long time player excited to start up again after a year. See you Thursday.

X-wing is still strong and active thursday nights at Game Night Games in Sugarhouse. We're about to start a new league next thursday (8/20), come check it out!

I see it on their calendar, I will swing up there and check out the group. Thank you for posting or I would have missed it.the calendar says 6pm, does that sound right?

There is a facebook group called Utah X-Wing Players. It is how I find games.

Utah County has the following places I know of:

- Dragon's Keep (Orem and Provo)

- The Puzzler (in the Provo mall)

- Blakfyre Games (in PG by the Purple Turtle)

- Gamers Inn (Lehi, as your heading towards Eagle Mtn)

- Game Den (Provo, by Movies 8)

They all have 'open game nights', and half have dedicated Star Wars or X-Wing nights (trying to get Imperial Assault going myself at Blakfyre). We even did an X-Wing League over the summer, where we encouraged playing at different stores.
