Dude: each uncanceled * adds + 1 damage to a successful attack?
7
Per the FAQ:
Q. If I succeeded on a combat check with only one [success symbol), do I still add +1 damage?
A. Yes. In both personal and starship combat, all (success symbols) (that aren’t canceled by (failure symbol)) add damage to the attack.
So the answer is 7.

Does anyone else get a little bit excited when they see a citation from a real, honest-to-God Edge of the Empire FAQ?Just me, then?*slinks back into his nerd hut*

Yeah, I got a little giddy when this was pointed out to me, via this thread right here, which discusses this at length:

Thank you all
I wonder if it would have been more clear if it had been written as "every uncanceled success", which sounds a little more firm and complete to me than "each uncanceled success."
I know, semantics... but much of writing is.

The problem is that it is inelegant. A lot of people see the first success as the hit and further ones as bonuses, so each success does one thing. Instead the "first" success is a hit AND a bonus and further successes are just bonuses. Likewise the fact that multiple failures are handled differently and aren't symmetric with successes like advantage/disadvantage further muddies things a bit.

Just be glad I didn't Rule 32 that one.

There aren't many... but there are times I'm actually glad I'm blind.
