Which of the other SW games do you play?

By DanteRotterdam, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

I played X-Wing a few times and liked it a lot. Recently my wife gave me the card game as a gift and at first I didn't realy know what to think of it. It looked to be extremely complicated and I was never really into card games. Boy, was I mistaking! I played 5 games tonight with my buddy and we had a blast. It was so good!!!

EotE is still my favorite of the licence but those others are not far behind!

Just curious to see who else from these boards plays these games!

I'm pretty into the LCG and would play the miniatures game if I had the time/money/interested opponents.

One thing to the card game is that, while you think you like it now, it becomes a whole new game once you start to realize the deeper facets.

I just got the LCG for Christmas from my wife. I only got to play one game and I still don't know how to to play it correctly. It looks like a load of fun once we get the rules down.

I have one of everything for X-wing, all of edge of the empire and age of rebellion beta.

I played all of the X-wing series of games except X-wing vs Tie Fighter. Still a moderator at the message board for the fan base mod that has done a lot of upgrading of the graphics to X-wing Alliance.

Dabbled a bit in Star Wars Galaxies until I got fed up with the grinding

Did a little of KotR online, until i got bored with the "kill things and collect the loot" idea.

didn't really care for Rebel Assault, Battlegrounds, Rebellion, Rogue Leader, even tho I tried them all.

Never bothered with any of the CCGs or LCG, or what ever card games came out except Epic Duels (great game)

Greatly disappointed with the gameplay for SW miniatures.. even tho the figures are incredible

Still loved the X-wing series PC games, many good memories, and lots of fun.

Seriously??? I think it is brilliant. What is it that makes it disappointing to you?

still have a working TIE Fighter game running on my PC.

Also played X-Wing vs TIE Fighter.

Bought the whole SW-compendium on a Steam-Sale. Among my favs are Republic Commando, Empire at War (Thrawns Revenge Mod), and i still have an active SW:TOR account.

And every other thursday i meet up with a few friends for our Legacy campaign.

*hums* Kandosii sa ka'rta, Vode an.

Only one I ever liked was the original 'Knights of the Old Republic'. It was the only game I ever felt like I was actually in the SW universe.

The first Arcade game I ever played was the original A New Hope game. I've also played all of the others including the Empire Strikes back game and pretty much every star Wars PC, console or handheld game. My favorites were KOTOR, Rebellion, Empire at War which I still play Galactic Conquest on regularly, the X-Wing and TIE Fighter games, and the Rogue Squadron series.

I've played every system of Star Wars Table Top RPG though I only played one campaign of First Edition D6 and 4 campagins of D20 and D20 Revised. I played the original CCG, and tried to get into both the Jedi Knight CCG and the TCG but couldn't find opponents.

If we go with video/computer games:

- Dark Forces

- Dark Forces 2 Jedi Knight

- Mysteries of the sith expansion

- Dark Forces 3 Jedi Knight 2 Jedi Outcast

- Dark Forces 4 Jedi knight 3 Jedi Outcast 2-Jedi Academy

If I can get a joystick, TIE Fighter will be replayed.

The Rogue Sqaud games were awesome.

My list of star wars game I have a hate-on for I won't go into because my opinion on them differs from most and I'm not going to derail. :P

Limiting to FFG since I think that is what the OP intended.

X-Wing I have. First couple times I thought it was great. It quickly got boring. It's collecting dust in my basement.

I've come close to purchasing FFG's Star Wars card game a couple times, but have been reluctant. I'm not a big card game fan even if I'm a big FFG board game fan (Game of Thrones by FFG is my all time favorite boardgame). Magic the Gathering I've played, but never really got into it. It was just ok, never a big fan of it. I invested in FFG's Game of Thrones card game since I loved the genre and FFG. I learned the rules in depth, even made up reference playmats. My group gave it a try and every single one of us ended up stating it was quite boring. It ended up being a waste of both my time and money.

Thus my reluctance to shell out the money for FFG's Star Wars card game. Note that years ago we did like playing the Star Wars Trading Card Game put out by Wizards of the Coast. Apparently we were in the minority since it didn't get many (any?) expansions.

I'm one of the few people who actually enjoys the Force Unleashed. It's God of War: Star Wars Edition, and that's just awesome to me. Say what you will about the storyline, but the novelization was actually quite good and it added plenty of neat new bits of lore besides (Raxus Prime and Proxy being my favorite bits). Plus, it has some AMAZING costumes! Toying around with different costumes and lightsabers makes me feel like I'm playing with the ultimate Star Wars action figure, and there ain't nuthin' wrong with that.

I truly hope Rebels does what the Clone Wars did with some of the Aasajj Ventress comics and retcons huge swaths of Starkiller's backstory and fate... because, as awesome as the gameplay was (dual lightsabers!), Force Unleashed 2 was a ghoulish abomination on many, many levels. I haven't read the novel yet, but there are too many other unread books on my shelf at the moment for me to even care.

Still a fun game, though.

Honestly I thought The Force Unleashed II Novel was much better then the game but some parts of the story were so dumb it was dragged down.

The only Star Wars game I ever played other than EotE was the lego video games. I remember laughing at the combinations I could make. I'd put Jar Jar's legs on everything because he could jump the best.

For now, EotE is it for me.

Other than me, everyone in my group also plays X wing and some video games but I have no clue which, though.

I still have the Decipher TCG, and I have played a myriad of video games over the years. Most of which have been mentioned already. However, what about the "Super" trilogy for Super NES? And Shadows of the Empire for N64?

Good times, there. We played the WEG version for a bit, too.

I'm currently working my way though the Jedi Knight Series:

Dark Forces

Dark Forces II

Mysteries of the Sith

Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast

Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

I've also played:

Star Wars Battlegrounds - I know I have it somewhere but am unable to locate it! ARGH!!

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic

Star Wars Rogue Squadron Series for both the 64 and Gamecube

Battlefront I & II - Oh how much I love these games!!

Pod Racing for N64

And my all-time favorite Star Wars game is Shadows of the Empire for the N64. This isn't just my favorite Star Wars game, it's also one of my all-time favorite games ever. This is one game I've never forgotten about.

Ironically, I just stumbled across the soundtrack for Shadows of the Empire and now I have the entire series!! The video game, book, graphic novel, and soundtrack!

I play all of the fantasy flight stuff, if I had to rate in order of sheer enjoyment I would say:

1. X-Wing

2. EotE

3. LCG

I have played every iteration of the RPG, all of the console SW games (even the awful NES games) and bunch of the PC games (X-Wing and TIE Fighter FTW) There is no SW game greater than KOTOR.
