Lieutenant figure pictures

By edroz, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

So I broke down and bought two of the lieutenant figures at my FLGS (US$9.95 each). I picked up the Farrows, Sir Alric and Lord Merick. I know a lot of people were curious about them so I took some pictures of the figures with a sorcerer and a beastman for comparison.

The store also had the other two figures of the first wave (Gata the White Death and Thaadd the Destroyer). I'm not using them in my campaign so I did not buy them. Gata was the same general size since it is a single space figure. Thaadd was about 1.5 times the size of Sir Alric.

They are decent sculpts. Sir Alric has good detail. Lord Merick's features are hard to pick out. He should look better painted.

The figures come with a slotted black plactic base. You will need to glue the figure to the base (fairly standard for metal minis). The biggest gripe right off is that the slot is the same size for both figures. Sir Alric fits nicely into his but Lord Merick's tab to too narrow to fill the slot. With the figure on the base you can see the ends of the slot.

Nice job dude.

I wouldn't consider your "gripe" a gripe myself. I hate over-long tabs, it makes it so much more difficult to fill the gaps.

Man those look great...I am so thinking of pulling the trigger on these but have not quite been talked into it.

I finished painting the two lieutenant figures I got. Here are the finished figures:

Very nice work! I'd like to try painting my minis at some point. I'm not sure if I'll ever get to it. :)

Great stuff! I am still waiting on my Lt's to show so I can get them all painted up! Really looking forward to painting up Thadd the Ogre.

Been painting away at my Lt's finally and hope to get some pics up at some point. How many are actually using the Lt mini's?

I have to say (being totally non-artistic myself) that those look amazing. None of our figurines are painted, and I certainly don't possess the skill to do it, but I wish they were painted, man do they ever look better.

Good work Edroz. Very good work. And nice to see them painted, it makes it a lot easier to judge the amount of details. I have to say though (being a long term warhammer player and painter) that I find their level of details quite small, especially compared to the price. I had certainly expected something better than that. Alric 'is' decent, but nothing more imo. I think perhaps Thaad is better because of his size, but not certain. I find him rather slim for a huge bulky ogre champ.

But thanks for the review and pictures.
