You'll see in a few days? So far as characters are concerned, you really can't go wrong. Just pick your favorite.

I'll say this about Ragnar: damage pumps are all EXTREMELY underwhelming at this point in time. Even after looking at new Astaroth, I gotta say, Ragnar better push the envelope Sankuro style. Furthermore, with the likelihood of him having a 5 or 6 handsize, he's going to need to pump his way to victory over the other starters, whom all seem to have much more interesting playstyles.
Also, of all the people who have competition, Cervantes has STUPID competition. His last starter was more than forgettable, and his C/E/O 5-star counterpart top 4'd Worlds, so uh...

He's 6 HS 28V, Earth/Evil/Fire. He loves pumping damage and he just HATES when people modify a control check.

How about we move all spoiler talk to a specific thread for those who have been to the pre-releases and know what the cards do:
I jsut want to point out that 7 handsizers are typically TERRIBLE in pre-releases/Sealed unless they happen to sport a Defensive Ability(Vega, Nagase) or a generally nuts ability(Chun, Ibuki). I would almost always rather play a 6 hand sizer wit ha lot of life and a decent ability in sealed, ALWAYS. This pre-release is no exception, the two best starters to try and win with are both 6 handsizers(there is also a darkhorse good 3rd starter too). Was a fun sealed regardless, can't block anything to save your life tho.

6 hand sizer with a lot of life? Really?
They just make the release drag on and on and on! With the cards available they rarely can be killed and typically with their small hand size can't kill their opponent. With reading all the new cards, and the lack of damage on either side, they typically go to game. We had a pre-release, I think two sets ago where every match went to time with a draw! A universal tie!
Personally, I go massively aggro in a pre-release. Kill or be killed! Best two decks in the last few pre-releases? Hsien-Ko 7-19 and Anakaris at 5-32. Both went massively aggro and rocked some face. Neither could defend really well, but just pushed the damage. That's how fighting games work!

I want 2x Ivy starters, I haven't been this excited in a while. I've been getting my old playgroup together since we stopped playing UFS for almost a year. I'll get them for sure when it gets released whenever that is this month.

I'll probably play Nightmare, though Astrid is my runner up.

I'm guessing your store got the pre-release right? I was thinking about ordering the starters off of FFG but they're not out yet.
Starter Zi Mei just goes to show you that a 7 handsize means nothing if the abilities can't back it up. Zi Mei is nowhere near the aggro quality of other characters. 'can't say I'd vouch for her. Although I'm still confident that Siegfried is the best during sealed (the guy is LAME!), I wanna try Yi Shan and see how he does. The face-up abuse and 5 checks aplenty see to it he could be very threatening.

I rocked our prerelease with Nightmare. Only loss was to Astrid, and I didn't get to play against teh Ivy.
Which left Siggy, Zi Mei, Cervy, and Yi Shan. RAWR!

It does, but sadly, I do not know which. I think you can rest assured it likely has the majority of Tira's commons and uncommons, with the exception of her Gloomy and Jolly sides because they have no purpose in Ivy.

edit: well, arguably Yi Shan but that's only because all of his own cards have Water. The non-Yi-Shan cards are off Earth.

Because the non Yi Shan cards are Lu Chen's, and they're Life/Water.
