Hey, I have a rather nub question here, but I thought it might be worth asking.
What happens if you trash Gorman Drip ( with counters on it - 5 for example, doesn't matter) , and use Sac construct to "absorb" the trash?
1) Gorman Drip stays, with 0 counters on it, you getting credits for the 5 that it had.
2) Gorman drip stays, with the 5 counters it had, you get credits for the 5 that it had/has.
3) Gorman drip stays with the 5 counters it had, Sac construct goes off , you don't get any money.
I'm really torn on this one. I think the first is most fair, but usually when you use sac construct to save a program with virus counters on it, they stay on the card.
Also does Sac construct works with Parasite?
As you trash the ice, is it possible to use Sac construct and "recast" the parasite on another wall?
Thanks
EDIT: I saw a post bellow with pretty much the same question, sorry about that. What happens with the Gorman though?
Sac construct questions
Gorman Drip has the trash as part of the cost. If you don't pay the cost, you don't get the benefit. Simple as that.
There was a ruling about SC and Deus Ex which confirmed this.
EDIT: Re: parasite - Read the rulebook again. If a card is trashed, anything hosted on it is trashed. This CANNOT be prevented.
Edited by CommissarFeeshso if they Trash Djinn, does that mean even if u Sac u still lose the hosted programs on it? Lol ..
No but with parasite you don't save the host you save the hosted program. The hosted program with no host can not be saved. For Djinn if you save djinn with Sac Con you save the programs on top of it as well. If you try to save the program that is being hosted from trashing but not Djinn then your program will be trashed.
Edited by frybenderWith Djinn, you can save it from being trashed so the other programs don't get trashed. With Parasite, you can't save the Corp's ICE and you aren't allowed to save Parasite.
I don't know if there's an applicable Corp card yet, but I suspect any "save Ice from being Trashed" effect is going to have issues with Parasite. If the parasite on Enigma has 2 counters, then it's still in the "terminal condition" as we say in AGOT and would essentially be immediately re-trashed, even if you tried to save it.

It would fall afoul of the same issue as SC trying to save a Plastcrete with 0 counters. Lukas ruled that you CAN trash the Construct to prevent the trash, but then it will immediately trash anyway because it's a constant effect and is therefore always 'checking' itself for the trash condition.
Any 'prevent an ICE being trashed' card would certainly encounter the same problem with Parasite.
As things are at the moment, unless we start seeing more 'trash a piece of ICE' effects, a card like that would probably be too narrow anyway (the only other forced trashing I can think of right now are Kraken and FAO.
Why everyone focuses on the Parasite so much ... the real question here is the Gorman Drip
I mean, it's the Sac Construct that gets trashed , not the Gorman Drip ... so I guess that doesn't meet the requirement to trash the program to get the money

Because it was succinctly answered already:
