Cherubs

Any idea for the Availability, stats, and usefulness of Cherubim servitors?

I would make them similar to Servo skulls. Perhaps one degree rarer due to the greater expense of creating one. Cherubim serve pretty much the same role as Servo skulls but are somewhat more decorative IMO.

Look in the Inquisitor's Handbook.

Look in the Inquisitor's Handbook.

Forgot about that! Thanks!

Individually, or in large groups?

For large groups, look in Into the Storm

Stats: Roughly equivalent to a small child, so probably not that strong.

Usefulness: Anything that you need a flying three-year old child to do, it can do. You could make them carry remote-controlled melta bombs, but that's a job for servo skulls.

Availability: The Imperium will probably have an ample supply of dead children for as long as it exists.

They aren't usually actually made from dead children. They are just another form factor of servitor. They are mainly status items, although they can be useful in some purposes and can be programed like other servitors. There is even a specialized component for your ship (Into the Storm?).

Memory serving correctly AdMech makes them from clone bodies.

One of my Characters was always taking pot shots against those little buggers. Let's say he didn't have fond memories of those things helping Imperial Inquisitor prying his brainpan open when he was questioned.

His Family line of respected Military personel and records was put to the torch except him as he was found free of Taint.

Some sources say they are a synthetic flesh with animal brains wired in. It depends on where you look, and probably on the person making them.

That's because GW wouldn't actually write these are made of DEAD CHILDREN - but I think that was their initial purpose. I guess.

In my games these are really brain-damaged children "discarded" on their birth, it's not like the imperium has a lack of supply of those (think of all the pregnant women with heavy metals poisoning in hive/forge worlds) or would even bother to work stryxis-like vat-bred clones so frequently to build such large arrays of those.

With such hate for mutants and the like, I think that specially in forge worlds the admech would be a bit "spartan" regarding babies (if it's not fit or has a brain anomaly, cherub!).

Ps.1:

This explains the morale penalties mentioned on Into The Storm. Vat-bred cherubs wouldn't have such appeal.

Ps.2:
I know, I have no heart.

What stats do cherubs have in the Inquisitor's Handbook?

Unimpressive, although the Cherubim in Inquisitor's Handbook are mentioned to be Bio-Constructs, instead of what some of the more grimdark of us believe should be their origin.

Assume that we're not willing to risk the wrath of FFG by posting their stats from IH online. They are low wound, low armour, low toughness creatures that would probably die to any non-primitive attack, but are capable of being commanded like any other familiar. Thus if you get creative, I'm sure you can find uses for flying pseudo-children.

Well, in an Inquisitor supplement, Cherubs made from dead babies were talked upon. They were a special kind, named Nephilim, for they were made from dead psyker children... So that they can be used to enhance the powers of their masters;

Oddly enough, I remember reading somewhere in another FFG franchise book this same concept. Can't recall exactly where though. Actually, I believe it was in one of those monthly magazines.
