So, the Nether Realm deck, is it only for the alternate endings or...?

There is a handful of cards that would cause concerns at that stage of the game, considering you are playing with all the expansions.

Would love to know how those alternate endings actually work. I'll keep checking in on TI.

I got mine in the mail on Tue! It's a really great addition. I have never looked forward to the end of the game this much!

I'm supposed to get it on Friday, which is okay.

I'm curious how you got your's so soon. Do you live down the road from FFG? I don't even know where they ship from. I checked the UPS status several times, even on Christmas Eve. Said it was in Somewhere, Illinois (so I assume that is close to where it started the journey from)

but I'm only in SE Michigan, so I thought I still had a chance of earlier delivery. Then I heard about UPS delivery problems.

I will be pleased to get it on Friday. I will be more pleased to start setting it up for play, immediately after.

As soon as the post went up I ordered it with 3 day delivery. I live in Kansas so I guess it just worked out. Now to play!

I was thinking of adding a couple of home-brew adventure cards to the standard adventure deck forcing you to draw from the nether realm. Get some of these nasty cards in play when not using the alternate ending.

Just make another revealed ending that makes players draw from the Nether Realm deck, what would be good is make one that turns the spaces in the inner region into draw 2 cards from the Nether Realm deck instead of what they are now . Oooo thats a idea .

I cannot say awesome so many times; it becomes irrelevant. The Nether Realm appears to be anything but irrelevant.

I got my Nether Realm tonight when I got home. They are beautiful.

It is tempting to think of ways to draw them earlier in the game, but I think for now, I'll go with the flow of using as intended. We don't often play the Revealed alt endings, but I think the next game/one, will be from this expansion.

While I'm going to wait until playing them before considering a way to draw them earlier, it wouldn't be hard to use existing cards or situations. I don't think I can home brew very easily, so I'd rather s't'r'e't'c'h "house rules" a little.

Possibly some of the various teleport or time warp type spells could have this use if one is willing to pay a fate token. In this case the spell caster is sending it to attack another character (limitations per region etc).

Or certain events could trigger the nether realm opening.

But at this rate, I think it will work out fine with our playing style, as is, so I hope to report a good game with Nether cards, in the near future.

Looks amazing, Always been a HUGE Talisman fan ever since I purchased the first edition back in the 80's

I don't think I will be able to get this expansion though as live in the UK, the postage is a bit of a killer when its more than the value of the item. as its a POD item don't think its likely to appear on store floors over here, well I can but hope in the future maybe.

Retailers can order The Nether Realm like any other expansion. Ask your FLGS to order it in for you.

Finished first game using every expansion except Dragon. 6 hour game with 4 people. We used the standard Pandora's Box alternate ending.

Me and my friend Taylor were both in the inner region (I was the Vampress and also a Lycanthrope, it was awesome) when out of nowhere my city dwelling Magus Fiancé whooped the Dungeon Boss and popped onto the Crown and opened the box. She drew 24 cards and played them one at a time. Due to Taylor having the night shroud he evaded a lot of the creatures, but she used the cards wisely and flipped the day/night cycle using events. At first I thought we were going to survive, as I had 13 Str and 9 Crft and Taylor had 16 Str and 7 Crft. It came down to the wire but she ended me with one card and used the rest to wear him down. I was suprised but it was a really fun fight at the end.

The Nether Realm does add some time to an already lengthy game, but it adds tactics and thought to the end and makes going for the Crown more of a gamble than I expected.

Worth every penny.

Hey Talisman Island! Great job! Think you could get FFG to add the Ice Queen as a unique threat like The Reaper and The Werewolf but as a POD expansion for Frostmarch? (Maybe a Winter Witch playable Character and a few adventure cards? Just watched Frozen and I play with the unofficial Character I think you made)

Nice to see some alternate ending cards

The Hunt looks a little abusive, but I suppose would make for a quicker 'safer' game. The gauntlet looks interesting though it would enforce players going down the highlands or dungeon route to win the game. They would still have to beat the two Nether cards to win the game which adds a nice twist.

Congratulations Jon on your expansion and I love that you tied in the alternate ending of the 2nd edition to the very successful revised 4th. It's a nice tip of the hat....really nice. An entire deck of brutal enemies - Brilliant! Two thumbs up.
