Custom Talent Trees

Has anyone made form-fillable custom talent trees? I've searched this board and a quick Google search and didn't find anything. I'd like the ability to make some custom talent trees and also have them look like pretty versions from the books. :-)

I wish. I am just using a flow chart maker to make my own.

That's something I'll probably get into once the system has had time to age and I want to try my hand at using these rules for different eras. I've always wanted to run a game set during the Knight Errant series (1100 BBY), for instance.

The problem with creating blank Talent trees is that each Talent tree is unique in the flow that it allows. So, the sheet would have to allow each connection between the blocks to be turned on or off as needed for each tree. That isn't as easy to create as say a character sheet that just needs a place to put some text over a static background.

But people have done them somehow, right? There's several pdf copies of the existing talent trees out there, and they're not just scanned copies of the ones from the book, so someone has to have the ability to do it.

Even if I couldn't get a "custom talent tree editor" and someone just explained how to create them using some existing software or program, I'm fine with that.

Simplest way. Powerpoint. Set the page size/shape to match your desired result. Use the text boxes for the Talents and then use an arrow with no head or tail to connect a given pair of boxes together.

The people that have done them did them either in Illustrator or in Acrobat Professional. But that is a far cry from making a "simple" sheet that you can turn things on or off as needed, like the connecting arrows without access to those programs.

I'll give that a shot. I'm no expert with Powerpoint, but I am sure there's some tutorial or "How To" thing on YouTube. I didn't know Powerpoint could even do something like that.

You could use my builder (see sig) and print screenshots if you needed them printed. Adding them to a character will have the added affect of putting a check box on each talent.
