Just bring Yoga back. Problem solved, with "no" problems created in the process.

No. Nuh-uh. No way. Nope. Nah. No.

More importantly, HELL NO. Yoga Mastery + Raw Talent = even more HELL NO.

. Set 12 looks like it's going to bring this game a whole fresh start, but with the threats that already exist, Set 12 is going to have to try immensely hard, and it doesn't need that pressure.

Hasn't like the last four sets been complete meta defining sets with expectations to the moon? And haven't they all dissapointed (minus a few cards)? Forgive me if my expectations are a lot lower than the rest of y'all

Sorry about that. the winner is Daniel Stone, the character is a shape changing fox spirit named Ming Lin. We have the bio up after it goes through editing. Again sorry about the delay I have been working on some other big projects and let this slip. Congratulations to Daniel and thanks to everyone who sent in entries, we will be doing this agin next year.

Hey, it's the SoTG!

Uh... so who won the character creation contest? ;-p

THEY'RE JUST WAITING TO SEE WHICH OF US SNAPS FIRST

I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE! HRUYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Well congrats to Daniel. Honestly, I wasn't expecting to win that contest at all, but I liked my idea. I wonder how far it actually managed to go. lol

Meh, had I known we could delve into the spiritual, I probably would have done so with one of my characters. Oh well, live and learn.

I didn't delve that much into the spiritual myself. In fact, it was pretty basic I think. I might post it up somewhere (where, I don't know.....any clue guys on that one???) so that people can see just exactly how it was and ridicule it. lol

I'll just post the basic ideas behind them here, since I won't be using them for the next year.

First : Huge Persian bodyguard using a mix of eastern and western arts due to his travelling.
Second : Roman Girl who kills people with Pancratium.

Yeah, I went for simple concepts.

Mine was a ninja/samurai chick. That's about as generic as you can get I guess : /

we need yoga to stop all the bs like lotm, c boxing, plasma beams e, everything on feline spike etc. enhances are SUPER free right now.

and we need yoga to stop battle prowess, psycho style, criminal past, amy's assisstance, defender, saikyo ryu, make a dif. etc.

enhances define this game with all their jank.

We may need better enhance negation, but that doesn't mean we need Yoga Mastery, specifically, in all of its obscene ridiculousness. It's not like they can't print new cards that have powerful but fair ways to handle enhances. There's no shortage of ways to do it, including potentially Rashotep's blanking theme if implemented in a certain manner. Or am I missing the announcement that every card released from now on has to be a reprint?

Hey Scott - I hear that Set 12 has a pile of answers to the problems you list. Maybe wait a day or two and take a look at it at your pre-release.

Shhh... that means people would have to read their cards and think.

Do not even speak of bringing Yoga back.

Stop. Now. You know that Barrel Roll? Don't do it. Just get shot down by those lasers.

1-Death would have hold of Inhuman Perception and Yoga, and would be the only symbol to be able to run both cards in a mono-symbol deck/foundation base. Far too much there.

2-Raw Talent and Yoga. What's that? Enhancing as I'm attacking? Ok, thanks for the damage pump! Add Times Square to that as well.

3-Unlike during Block 1, Aggro simply has 0 power against a deck that would pack Yoga. Back in the day, it was QUITE possible for, say, an Adon deck to blow a Dhalsim deck sky-high before Yoga could become a factor. Now, it would simply kick more dirt on whatever Aggro decks are out there.

Thankfully, there's no chance in hell of Yoga coming back. I say this with certainty because that would simply be suicide at this point. It would solve one big problem, and then create an entirely new GIGANTIC problem. And trust me, with the thin ice the game is walking on right now, the last thing any member at FFG wants to do is drive more players away.

Tri-Symbol Remy would also love Yoga to come back. What's that? A 6 check? That essentially neuters my opponent? In two of my symbols? Oh yeah I'll take it.

No, Yoga was a mistake. A mistake we no longer have the tools to deal with.

Now hold on one second. I'm not the biggest fan of Yoga but examine the symbols. Two outta the three of them have zero Olcadan's protection, and even Death only has Oral Dead. Something similar would be nice, whether it be a reprint of Pieces of Hate or whatever, but either way enhances are running roughshod at the moment.

But at the same time the game has evolved to the point where dual symboling a deck is common place.

How many of those three symbols match up nicely with something that does offer owlface protection?

We have NoMems, and yet no-one plays it. Why?

Becuase they cba to dual-symbol with Fire, build mono-Death (don't blame them, too many 4-checks), or Void.

Evil Doer Destroyer lacks a block, and yet matches with Evil/Death/Void, giving both Death and Void TWO pieces of direct enhance negation that other symbols do not have.

Block 2 only have Pieces of Eight.

2 > 1.

Though I would agree that ONE (and only one) more piece of "R Commit: After your opponent plays an enhance, negate its effects" would be OK. More than that, and people aren't forced to be CLEVER and use other things for *indirect* enhance negation.

Like Silver Spoon.

That card is all kinds of Hawt!

Reprinting Yoga requires reprinting The Curse Broken, and I'm ALL FOR doing that one.

Although then we need to nerf the All decks, I propose banning Chester's (and thus being able to unban Higher Calibur, because it's not 300% degenerate anymore! Yeah!)

Silver Spoon is indeed awesome, although it wasn't enough to carry the Gabe deck I built for legacy a few weeks back (All/Fire, full of terrible, terrible jank cards)
