Next Expansion After Dungeon - Any Ideas?

By player30867, in Talisman

Also, I noticed that my talisman dungeon board does not cover half the side of the main board long ways. If the city board (or whatever board they decide to put on the city corner) is of the same dimensions - which seems likely - then there will be a gap between the two. There would also be a gap between the two expansion boards on the other side of the main board. Why not bring out 2 smaller board expansions that fill those gaps? They could be alternative dimension boards or something; a bit like the timescape but not. Maybe you could get to them via certain spells or adventure cards and they could contain big challenges and big rewards?

Unlikely to occur I know, but I think that might be cool idea.

Hi vandimar77,

I have made a similar request for some expansion connecting at the middle of the board between corner expansion on this post previously.

I'm glad somebody picked up the same idea too!!

Cheers

Mmm, i don't know..

I put the cards always on one side of the table next to the main board..

The gaps are too small to put a new board on it..

Maybe we must keep it as it is...

If all the regions are attached to the main board, then it is already large enough..

Anyone remember the HeroQuest expansion "Against the Ogre Horde"?

It was quite fun, something lke that with a single race of monsters would be a good theme for an expansion. And Ogres are always fun. Forstmarch will have an Ogre character, but that should not be a problem. The additional game board (if it includes one, but not necesary, it could just be an invasion of them into the Talisman realm) would depict the area they settle in.

Alternatively they could choose another race of nasty monsters. Why not vampires, or werewolves, or Trolls?

yeah, i have that expansion for HeroQuest..( actually.. i have never play it, because people where still in the starting quest book or kellars keep.,.

Against the Ogre Horde is never publish in dutch, and it was just luck that i saw the box in germany..

Some years later,,,, i have buy the quest book in english on internet..

The last time we have play HeroQuest, we have play the american rules. That's a real challenge and it's so much harder than the dutch version..

But i think i will never play Hero Quest again.. ( i have play it so many times, that i don't want to play it again anymore lollengua.gif

It's 13 years ago, since i was very busy with the game.

Now is it Talisman that i will playcool.gif

Yes the gap is too small for a big expansion board but not for 1 or 2 space in-road to a new board. Remember, the expansion board only need to connect to 1 space on the main board, with that said, I can visualize another outside region going around the dungeon, city, mountain and forest corner boards that connect through those gaps to the main boardgran_risa.gif

These are easy and obvious things that can be possible to do with Talisman 4th revised as is today.

Too bad that peoples complain about their table not being big enough to fit the main and dungeon board but I can still hope and dream for a very big Talisman realmgui%C3%B1o.gif

Oh sure! I can see it now - players all standing around an enourmous table using pool cues to reach into the middle to push their characters through the Inner Region because nobody's arms are long enough. And using telescopes and binoculars to read the text on adventure cards lying on the opposite side of the board. :D

Haha, and does that mean that the game is still fun to play? lengua.gif

Well, i think not..gran_risa.gif

But adventure cards are always welcome !!

Here is the Talisman playtesting room at FFG Headquarters...

Hahaha partido_risa.gif

If talisman would be THAT big, where can i buy a large table like that one on the photolengua.gif

I don't even have room for that... ! lengua.gif

PS:

Old master:

If you are hoping for a very very big talisman world, does this mean that you have a table as the one you see on the picture lengua.gif

Alright!! Great picturegran_risa.gif

Yes I do have a conference size table in my dinning room and I have 2 big 6 foot tables joint together in the basement so I have one available at all times.

But now I'm green with envy at the size of the table on the picturellorando.gif

Bring on those expansions......

Cheers

Lucky youlengua.gif

If all the regions are attached to the main board, then i am still wondering how i must dealt with the table size..

It seems that you don't have that problemgui%C3%B1o.gif

But first we get a small expansion...gran_risa.gif

So, to do something new, instead a forest or mountain or city expansion, FFG can do a "Sea" expansion... To get in this region players have to pay one gold (boat ticket) or to buy a boat (new card), or use the raft one time. You can find monsters like Scylla and Cariddi, and do other experiences like in the Odyessey tale, or to find Atlantid or some Poseidon Temple... or even fishing in the Sea to eat good! :P

I think that it can be funny to have a region of this type, what do you think?

Nah...

Nothing is wrong with sea enemies etc, but a whole sea board...

That is going a bit too far for me..

I see myself already moving around a island...( talisman island maybe lengua.gif

I am already happy if the world is expanded with a Mountain and Forest region..+ we get a city too !...

And then, i have no space anymore on my table...

I would be very happy for there to be a sea expansion. I seem to remember seeing a home-brew corner board on the net somewhere, where there was the dock where you hired your ship, then you moved around discovering sea monsters and making your way to Poseidon or Neptune. It looked good for a home-brew, and there isn't a part of Talisman that is over water except if you count crossing from outer to middle region. There could be a pirate character who would of course benefit from being on the open seas with his abilities.

Sorry to hear that you will have no space for a dragon tower!!!!lengua.gif

Why not? gran_risa.gif

Dragon Tower comes in the middle.. ( unless you make a sea region instead of the inner region partido_risa.gif

The Pond region - oooooh!!! gran_risa.gif

Good idea, a player pirate can be interesting...

anyway ffg can do forest/mountain region (often forest are on mountains :P ) and a sea corner, or a separate region for the sea, where you can arrive by some cards or event or spell et cetera... i don't have problem to use other part than only corners or center to new regions, we can think about it anyway (i have no idea yet, but i'll think) :))

Ok, I thought that you gave up on the Dragon Tower since you have a nice one alreadylengua.gif

I told you that in that last message, but you did not reply to it lengua.gif

It's from your old father but can you play with it? Does it fit in the center region? (or portal region)...

Anyway, as I said before, your Dragon Tower is awesome...

Sorry if I did not reply to your last message but it did sound like a conclusion to me and nothing else came to mind at that moment (read: busy with earning money to buy more Talisman big expansions that will not come out this year....)

Hi Old master,

It fit's in the center of the board of 3th edition

Well, we can use it,if we want to play 3th edition, but actually, we have not play 3th edition for a long time, because i like the 4th edition very much !

No worries, i was just wondering if you have read that message, but i am glad you did !lengua.gif

Too bad it doesn't fit the 4er center region.

Maybe it's good incentive to get your dad to do another one that would fit on the FFG board sizegui%C3%B1o.gif

Keep me posted on the negociation and if you succeedgran_risa.gif

Good luck and cheers
