Does this count towards the force struggle during the 2v2 and challenge deck match? Or is it only good during a 1v1 match?

Why would it not count in multiplayer?

It works in 2v2 and challenge deck games, but it still only boosts your own units and not your teammate's units.

Yeah, I remember Scott and Tom talking after the worlds tournament about the crazy things teams will have to take into consideration. Like declaring an attack as DS assisted with your partner's lone unit so that during the combat phase he can cast Aggression and not have it hit "his" unit. Their brains were on fire with those shenanigans.
