Nabat?

By bladerunner_35, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

I've got access to most of the books from previous editions. I haven't found a description of Nabat on Ryloth anywhere but wanted to double check here if anyone knows if it's mentioned somewhere? There's a lot of books and I could easily have missed something.

I think it was something created just for The Clone Wars series, which doesn't really surprise me.

Wookieepedia is your friend.

Thanks man!

Not Nabat, its Sàbat my surname...

Please don't ban me! XD

Ryloth in Imperial era hasn't so much Imperial control right? I mean its one of those planets that Hutts control it but Empire take benefits from slave workers?

Well, as far as I understand there's no central government. Instead the planet is run independently through city states who in turn are run by by Twi'lek clan councils. Traditionally the Hutts do not bother about the actual ryll mining, only the smuggling and selling.

However, because of the slave and ryll trade there's bound to be a number of interested parties claiming a stake in the planets politics.

Thank you! I always had my doubts about Ryloth "governoment" and the Imperial repercussion there.

I used the Ryloth sequences from The Clone Wars as flavor when our party travelled to Nabat in "Long Arm of the Hutt".

Those episodes are terrific stories, too.

As the players flew over I described the damage to the city from the bombing during the war, and how there were still places that hadn't been fully repaired. A massive stone bridge had been replaced by a metal one.

I had Twi'lek characters discuss how the bombing and occupation of the city by the droid army had affected them. Nothing too major, just to add a sense of the place as being something affected by history.

I was thinking of it like Liverpool or Dresden after the war--even 20 years after some of the physical effects remain.

I described Nabat: after the Clone Wars there were other species starting to set up shop there. Extensive commerce throughout the city. This allowed Thwheek to shadow them without standing out in the city.
