Questions about Victory Points&Dropped Equipment

By Sergey, in Tannhauser

As I played Tannhauser with my friend many times, I still don't understand some things:

1. During our recent play in Story Mode (we played on Catacombs map) - I have faced such a situation: I have accomplished one Primary Objective and one Secondary Objective and had in total 8 Victory Points, then my friend won the game (accomplished all his objectives on the map) and also got 8 Victory Points in total - the problem is: there is no explanation in the rules how to act in such a situation - is this situation can be considered as a tie or else? And in such a case we have the following - is you accomplish all your objectives - if you haven't more VP than your opponent has - you loose?

2. Also would like to ask the following: if your hero or trooper is fallen - all Disposable Equipment should be dropped to the circle where he stood last - but if for example you drop Eva's "Strafe" or McNeil's Flash Gun - can these be picked up by any other trooper or hero (of any team - Reich, Union or Matriarch), or these weapons are cpecific to these units?

Thank you in advance for your help.

1. In case there's a tie I would say whoever got all their objectives wins as that is considered a major victory. If you decide to play until the end of the turn for some reason and you both complete your objectives, then whoever has the most characters (if that's still a tie the one with the most heroes) left. And yes, if you have fewer VP you would lose b/c thematically you've squandered your opportunities (I'm guessing). It also encourages intelligent play rather than charging blindly to overwhelm your opponent and using your VP to heal. Course, you can always play to get objectives with VP acting as bonuses if this doesn't make sense.

2. Check the descriptions. If it says something like "If Eva uses this weapon and roles a natural 10" then it means she is proficient with that weapon and therefore gets a bonus when using it. Flash guns on the other hand just spew bullets so anyone can use them, unless it's the one Brown has. I'm pretty sure your need the strength icon to pick that one up/use it. Should say in the description though. Regardless, weapons are either usable by all (machine gun) with a special ability if one character uses it (whip), is character specific (doom), or requires a skill to use it (TNT)

Thank you very much for explanation!

Anyone can pick up the A6a Flash Machine Gun, but you need the Atheletics skill if you want to move faster than your Lowest Movment score just like any other Heavy Weapon (To date the A6a is the only heavy weapon in the game).
