Unpowered Shock Maul

Hello all,

I'm currently playing in a Beta v2 Dark Heresy game.

Here is my question. If I have a shock maul, and turn off the power (assuming that I can or it runs out of juice)...does it at that point become a simple weapon/truncheon that I would need the separate weapon skill for? Or does it still use the shock maul weapon skill?

I'm curious as to what everyone thinks.

Stupid as it may be, I would assume (I am not sure, I haven't got the DH2 book in front of me, but it's how it used to work) that it works like the Force or Power fields - when turned off, it reverts to it's Primitive/Low-Tech equivalent.

So yeah, you probably need Low-Tech to use it.

This is because the Weapon Training/Proficiency-Talents are crap and despite several revisions, still contain key flaws like this.

Edit: Ah, I didn't notice this is in the Dark Heresy section, I thought it was in the Dark Heresy 2nd Ed. section. You should probably raise the question there to avoid confusion.
