Monster Cup

By Lance845, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

I wish like crazy that FF would make a official Monster Cup.

Please FF. PLEASE. Produce some kind of awesome cup I can order off your site to make my game more awesome.

In the meantime what are you guys useing for monster cups?

I use a blue large dice bag with a yellow elder sign stiched onto it.

Uhm, the game box? It's standing around empty and dejected anyway...

We use a black cloth bag (about 10 inches deep). It works great, is easy to store in the box, and doesn't take up as much space when playing as a bowl or box.

A wide, slightly chipped pasta bowl that is no longer suitable for food. Good for mixing the tiles around in and throwing them in with disgust when the outskirts get full and the terror level increases.

The 100-disc DVD spindles I've been oh-so-lovingly using have been chewing up the edges of the monsters. Now I use the Carcassonne tile bag, since Carcassonne has fallen out of my circle of games.

A monster bag with big ol' honkin Elder Sign instead of the word "Carcassonne" would be great though.

Crown Royal bag... and a zip lock for the Hex monsters.

Beh. Black Goat herald is irritating. I just draw until I get a hex monster, whenever I need one. Saves a lot of time. And there are lots of hexes to go around.

Get a textmarker and make it "Carcosa" ;D

To supplement my storage, I've been using a plastic box with a lid that latches shut. It holds zip baggies containing monsters, money, and a few other things. Once the things are removed, I unzip the monsters and pour them back in, so it's the monster cup, too. It's transparent, but I always look away and mix it up a lot before drawing. Given the luck that we have when drawing monsters, I'm pretty sure that my subconscious isn't taking advantage of it, either.

Just a black cloth bag with a drawstring to keep it closed when not in use. It works well and doesn't take up much space.

l use my green cloth bag which came with my Scrabble, also has a drawstring.

Purple and Gold Crown Royal Bag ~ 25 years as a dice bag; now the keeper of AH evil!

I use the box top when playing most of the time but my group used a baby formula container before the box top became the container of choice.

I was thinking of buying one too. In the UK, you can order it in some game stores for 5 pounds. What is its size though ?

Custom-made dice bag: www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5126805

It's a two-fabric dicebag, so you can flip it inside-out for a change. On the outside, it's a solid royal purple with a felt Yellow Sign (I sent a single jpg for reference); on the inside it's Spiderwebs on black. And it is HUGE. I dumped every monster chit I have--every expansion possible, including Masks--and it BARELY reached halfway. LOTS of room for grabbing and shuffling.

Because of the custom Yellow Sign felt, it was $15. Standard two-fabric bags should be $12. From first message to holding it in my hands was about 5 days. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Talk to the owner, and see what she can do. You won't regret it.

I sewed a pouch in dark red crushed velvet that we use. It works well, I made is so the opening is just big enough to put your hand in, so the pieces don't fall out in the box, but you don't have to fiddle with a string.
