The Ultimate Glass Cannon

By Englishpete, in X-Wing

This is the ultimate glass cannon build.

Hard to hit, hits hard, but will fold like a deck of cards if you land hits on them

This sure would be fun to play with.

But there are 6 points left ...

How about Opportunist for Turr - to finish off ships that were damaged by Fel and Jax?

I edited the points, I mis quoted them initially

ok ... hmm ... still quite nasty three little bees, ready to down everything.

Would they stand against

3 x Dagger + FCS + HLC? ^^

Technically you could take Expose to be even more of a glass cannon. ;-)

Nobody said it would be useful though!

If you want to have more glass then cannon:

20 points
Black Squadron Pilot #1
Expose, Targeting Computer

Black Squadron Pilot #5

At this point you might as well take 5 Alpha Squadrons all with Targeting Computer

Good point, but the Alphas are less 'glassy' than Ties with Expose ;)

Lol

5 ships with 3 hull each = 15 hull is less glassy than 3 interceptors with 3 hull each = 9 hull. The first list is certainly more of a glass cannon.

I love the Int list, I use Vader now instead of Jax, but Jax will become the go to boy.

5 Ties are more glass to break. They even look more fragile ;)

What is your experience with this list?

Edited by TheRealStarkiller

I used that exact list, Englishpete. It was a lot of fun. I didn't lose a ship though it was just a friendly home game with my brother-in-law who was learning the game. He was flying 3 X-wings with Luke.

I've tried that list before and have a marmite ( love/ hate, for those not familiar) relationship with it.

Against turrets I find it very frustrating.

I end up taking focus and evade most turns, then not spending my focus while shooting just incase i need it for defence and protecting the stealth. Then when it comes to evading end up rolling no eyes.

It is the only downside I find to the high PS ships, i hate making that decision.

I love this list, It is very, very effective. I have one variant that replaces Vader with a Bounty Hunter if I feel I need an anvil.
