Smuggling Goods

By Shendo3000, in Game Masters

So I'm new to Edge of the Empire but a long time Star Wars RPG fan. (I used to play Saga Edition). Anyway I'm coming up with a campaign for my group who are used to playing Dnd 4e, and I thought I'd share some of the products I'm planning on making them ship around the Galaxy.

One of the elements of this campaign is going to be brewing death sticks....a sort of Breaking Bad in space lol. I'm working on rules for how thats gonna work, so some of these descriptions have those rules in them. Also a lot of it isn't 'canon' of course. That said, here are the products:

Sleyherenium – Death Stick Ingredient. Successful Knowledge (Underworld) check produces 1 death stick for every success, 2 for a triumph. Every failure uses 10 gallons of Sleyherenium, regardless of whether the success cancels it out. A despair uses 100 gallons, representing a failed batch. Produces basic yellow Sleyheron death sticks by itself. (Value approx. 50 credits per stick)

Nar Shaddaa industrial toxin – This glowing green toxin came from a factory on Nar Shaddaa, and can be sold by itself or mixed into death sticks. A successful Underworld check results in increasing a deathstick’s value by 20%. Also adds toxic 2 to its special qualities. Counts as one ingrediant slot. (can have up to 3 ingrediant slots)

Nar Shaddaa silkrat cocoon – This vermin native to the Nar Shaddaa undercity produces a milky white cocoon that has addictive properties. When mixed into a death stick brew, it increases its addiction by 1.

Felucian Mushrooms – Incredibly rare, these hallucinogenic mushrooms induce visions in nearly all species. A successful Underworld check results in increasing a deathstick’s value by 60%. Also adds Hallucinogenic 5 to its special qualities.

Falleen Piro Piro Fish Venom – This venom from the Falleen homeworld is one of the reasons the world is a hotbed for criminal enterprises. In many desert dwelling species, this drug is toxic. A successful Underworld check results in increasing a deathstick’s value by 10%, and increasing its toxicity by 1.

Falleen Dusk Flower Petals – This indigo and red flower is highly addictive and one of the reasons the Falleen’s homeworld is often under scrutiny by sector rangers. It increases a death stick’s value by 10% and increases its addictive properties by 1.

Coruscant Wine – Actually manufactured on agricultural worlds in the Core world’s region, this wine can be sold in the outer rim at a high price.

Boz Pity Miracle Mud – This fertilizer can fetch a high price on the right world. In addition, in some religions in the Outer Rim and Mid Rim, it is sacred, upping its value considerably.

Boz Pity Trinkets – “sacred” trinkets from Boz Pity are always a hot seller among the religious in the Outer and Mid Rim.

Boz Pity Ancestor Powder – Some Shamans swear by this powder, believing it to let them communicate with the dead. Finding the right buyer might be tricky, but the income result will be worth it.

Da Soocha V Spring Water – Hutts have been selling this “sacred” water for eons. It’s become a bit of a joke for most Galactic Citizens, but Treaty of Vontor species and those loyal to the Hutts still value this commodity as sacred.

Mon Cala Jellyfish – These jellyfish are of a particular breed that causes paralysis in most Non aquatic species, as well as colorful hallucinations. It is valued as both a poison and a drug. At low dosages, it acts as a muscle relaxant. Adds relax 1, Hallucination 2 to any deathstick brew.

T’Landa Til Horn – T’Landa Til, while as greedy as the Hutts, are no less on the outside of Hutt Society, sometimes being hunted for their horns. Some species, such as Weequay, value their horns as an aphrodisiac.

Parwani Poison – The Parwan is home to many painful and powerful posions. This one is valued by only the most sinister of crime lords.

Salt – Just common salt, but with the right label, it could be “Arkanian Crystal Salt” or Kamino Ocean Salt”…or it could just be sold on Arcona, since Arconans find salt addictive. Just be careful of the Arconan Government…delivering salt to Cona is a death sentence or at the very least a life in prison.

Shimia Blend Spice – Since Pacithips aren’t adversely affected by spice, Spice of all kinds is common on Shimia, their homeworld. This “blend” is manufactured there, and illegal nearly everywhere other than Shimia. Hallucinate 2, Relax 2, Toxic 1, Addictive 1

Desevro “Xim’s Coffee beans” – In recent years, Desevro has become known for its Coffee industry. “Xim’s” Is one of the most popular brands. Alert 1

Bantha Blue Milk – Common through out the Galaxy, yet still sought after in the right market. Must be sold quickly and refridgerated, or else it will go bad and become useless.

Coruscant Hawkbat Eggs – A delicacy, though rare outside of the core worlds. Worth triple if you can get them to the outer rim without them spoiling.

Sakiyan Gunpowder – A common name for a drug found only on Sakiya in the deepest jungles. It is said to be produced by a rare beetle. Adds relax 1, Addictive 1 to any deathstick brew. Light blue color.

Metellos Blend Deathsticks – these are some of the cheapest deathsticks on the market, second only to Balosar deathsticks. There’s no telling whats in them, only that they were made in one of the worst slums in the Galaxy.

Gossam cheap Goods – Cheap goods, mostly textiles, from the Gossam homeworld. With the right fake labels or salesmanship, they could produce quite a profit.

Sy Myrth Gastro Slime – Taken from a slug-like predator on Sy Myrth, this death stick ingrediant adds relax 2 to any death stick with a success. A failure results in reducing the deathstick’s value by 25%

Hssiss Dragon Blood – Actually a powerful alcohol, this brand comes from a farm on Korriban. Advertized to “enhance Sith awareness.”

Anyway thats all I've thought up so far. I'm sure I'll come up with more but any ideas would be great! Now I just gotta get my players together....

Actually that sounds like it would work well in conjunction with my Random Cargo Generator from a couple months ago.

This sounds pretty awesome.

This is amazing and I'm going to use this for my campaign.

My PC's have been establishing a smuggling space station in a hollowed-out asteroid and have just worked out a deal to be the middle-men for ryll from ryloth and some dark sun syndicate distributors. They take their 10% from each but they want more, since they've already been attacked by pirates twice.

Using this info they now want to farm or mine the base materials and fly them to their station, which they're going to revamp the old mining sections into refineries, to begin mass-producing drugs.

Next step is weapons smuggling and manufacturing!

Thanks guys!! Here are some more smuggling goods I came up with. Again, the drug effect and drug brewing rules aren't perfected yet.

Dathomirium – Deathstick Base Ingredient. Successful Knowledge (Underworld) check produces 1 death stick for every success, 2 for a triumph. Every failure uses 20 gallons of Dathomirium, regardless of whether the success cancels it out. A despair uses 100 gallons, representing a failed batch. Produces basic red Dathomiri death sticks by itself. (Value approx. 90 credits per stick)

Falleenium – Death Stick Base Ingredient. Successful Knowledge (Underworld) check produces 1 death stick for every success, 2 for a triumph. Produces basic green Falleen death sticks by itself. (Value approx. 100 credits per stick)

Fondorium – Deathstick Base Ingrediant. Getting Fondorium is incredibly difficult and likely involves Imperial entanglements. A successful Knowledge (Underworld) check produces 2 deathsticks for every success, 5 for a triumph. Every failure uses 30 gallons of Fondorium, regardless of whether the success cancels it out. A despair uses 300 gallons, representing a failed batch. Produces basic Fondor Purple Deathsticks by itself. (value approx. 200 credits per stick.)

Ithorium – Deathstick Base Ingredient. A successful Knowledge (underworld) check produces 2 deathsticks for every success, 5 for a triumph. Every failure uses 20 gallons of Ithorium, regardless of whether the success cancels it out. A despair uses 100 gallons, representing a failed batch. Produces basic Ithorian blue deathsticks (value approx. 100 credits per stick.)

Ithorian Starfruit – Ithorian starfruit is valued across the Galaxy as being some of the tastiest fruit. Must be sold quickly before it spoils.

Ithorian Gaabla Vine – This vine, grown on Ithorian herdships, has hallucinogenic properties and is sacred to some Ithorians. Adds Hallucinate 2, Relax 1 to any deathstick brew. Green color.

Ithorian Glumpshroom – These mushrooms from Ithor have unpredictable narcotic properties. Adds Disorient 1, Relax 1 on a successful vigilance check when using as a deathstick ingredient. Adds Hallucinate 1, Toxic 1 on a failed vigilance check.

Kinrath Venom – The venom of Kinraths, native to Kashyyyk, Dantooine and other worlds, can be used as a deathstick ingredient. Adds toxic 2, relax 1 to any deathstick brew, and increases its value by 10%. Green color.

As I have a smuggler in our campaign, this gives me some awesome ideas! Thanks. :)
