Bwing Custom paint jobs

By LukesFather, in X-Wing

I got the painting bug and painted my first Star wars Xwing minis. When I got the Bwings, the thing I hated from the start was the orange dot on them. I know its how they look, but I think its lame. Never liked it. Well now I have 4 of them. I first just used an Xacto and scraped it off, which worked well in all but one and the under-wing one doesn't like that method. So I dug out my paints, which were for the most part dried up. But I added water (GW paints) I used Blazing Orange and Enchanted Blue. Was going to use my red, but it wasn't working to add water, Or I added to much and wasnt thick enough. Anyhow, I got my inspartion from this site : http://www.wolfsshipyard.com/yards/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=3270

I liked acouple of them, but ov course, they were the ones that I don't fell like trying as I know my skill would not match want I wanted to see. But here is my version of Blue Squadron and my own made up Orange Crush.

looks solid

keep up the good work

those look good, now you just have to cut the cockpit off and add magnets so they orient correctly.. lol.. I'm working on mine as my vision allows.. I have two to do yet..

really do like the colors though.. nice job

I've thought of the upgrades for mounting, but think it's just outside my ability. I may mount them sideways with the boil method for the stands.

Not normally a fan of orange, but it really does look good on that ship. I thnink I was going to do green, but changed last minute.

SO last night I was at FFG Games Center playing CrookedWookie and someone, random, asked if my Orange paint scheme came that way or did I paint it. I will take that as probably the best complement I can get on them!

I still think you should do just a very light wash over the orange, dirty it up just a hair to match the grimy feel of the rest of the fighter. :D But I'm going to have to mess around with putting some new trim on some of mine as well. But that's just because it looks very neat and clean compared to the wash they put over the ships.

I like the orange quite a bit, though, and may have to figure out what shade you used and totally rip that off. ;)

GW Blazing Orange (couple years ago) added water and mixed it up, seemed to work well. The whole point to painting them was so they didn't match your B Swarm Wookie.

Bwahahahaha
Actually planning to use the three you gave me last night as guinea pigs and try a few things out with them, so they should be distinct regardless. ^_^

and MY Bwings, are fresh out the ship yards. X-wing-zibit from Pimp my starfighter just got done putting advanced sensors IN the advanced sensors, allowing you to take your actions AFTER you move!

You can take your actions before your ships are even on the BOARD, dog.

Man, you two know how to cure a bad day xD

I love the color saturation on that blue one.

I believe it was gw enchanted blue. Untouched. The paint was a little old and I added water to it to bring it back to life. So maybe a little more pigment then normal.

Those look great, also today is B-wing day as my first two arrived in the mail. Now all I am missing for the rebels are A wings.

Now you're thinking with B-wings.

I love these! B-Wings are by far my favorite!

great and vibrant colourschemes!
