Tokens

Anyone using maps and tokens? If so, what kind of tokens are you using and where did you get them?

Thanks.

I've been making my own.

Using these token bases:

And this hole puncher:

It's really handy. Just grab a picture, resize/crop it, then print it out. Then, punch out the circle with the hole punch. Lastly, peel the backing off the token bases and stick the punched out image on. BAM, instant token.

The picture you use will stay stuck on really well, and the token bases themselves are metallic and fairly sturdy.

They're also made to work with the same site's magnetic status markers as well, so there's that if you're the type that likes a bunch of doodads at your table :)

As for maps, I just use a Chessex Battlemap and some wet-erase markers.

I use token tool. It's how I make all my tokens for my games. I've made a couple hundred of them at least for D&D and Pathfinder.

You just find the picture you want to use, save it to a folder on your computer, open token tool, drag the image into token tool, select the token base you want, and save it. Then copy and paste the saved token image into something like word. The default size is 1", but you can make them bigger if the resolution on your picture is good enough. Make enough tokens to fill a page. Print on cardstock. What you do from here depends on how much work you want to put into them. I glue the cardstock page with a heavy coat of elmers glue to a piece of cardboard like you find on the back of a notepad. Weigh it down with a heavy book or something so that it doesn't warp (cover it with paper towels so you don't get glue on your book). Let it dry for at least 24 hours. Then cut out with scissors. Some people buy or make special punches though.

Thanks for the great ideas.

I've used Token Tool to make them and then upload to roll20.net ...

mfluder: Where would I get some of those?

mfluder: Where would I get some of those?

Litko game accessories.. they are awesome, they have many different sizes, I just used photoshop to make a 4x6 sheet of character ''tiles'' and had them printed at walgreens for 20 cents. (cheaper than buying a new ink cartridge for my printer) Cut em out, stick em in the token holders and voila!
