What is this "Vassal" of which people speak? I see it mentioned, but I have no way of getting to it, or of knowing precisely what it is. It sounds awesome, though.

It's a virtual tabletop, one can download and install various mods to play anything from checkers to (name of absurdly complicated game here). FFG tends to allow their games to be put up as long as modders leave out enough vital text that people can't use them to play the games for free.

It's a computer program that simulates board games and tabletop games. If you just do a Google search for "Vassal engine" you'll find it, it's a free download. There's a module for X-Wing, as well as 40k, Warmachine, and just about any board game you can think of.
