Another potential build project

Unknown smaller Rebel ship from Return of the Jedi.(unknown to me, if anyone has info please share) I have a 3/4 front view n my 'Sculpting a galaxy' book, and while this is not overly clear it is a decent side shot. Now it is a matter of figuring out the size but it doesnt look huge considering the Falcon is behind it and further from the camera but not too far so

Looks like a smaller blockade runner.. from Joes picture, it only looks about twice the length of the Faldon.

It has to be some kind of odd ball Corvette...I think.

EDIT: Nah, it's not a Corvette. :)

I think it's just a Corvette, since they're all over the place in that scene. Its size (compared to the Falcon) could be due to distance, but I'd bet it was just ILM wanting to make the shot more exciting and interesting and they just didn't care about the scale that much.

Looking at it kore I think I recofnize it, but I can't remember the classification.. if I had my RPG books from the older game I think I could scan and post a picture..

It had a distict angular cockpit area.. that's what I'm seeing on this one..

In the end of ESB there are some odd ships in the background. Might be one of them?

How are we certain the Falcon is further away than the ship in question? It certainly looks like it is behind it so that is hard to argue but where does the sense of depth come from? For all we know the Falcon certainly could be closer to the camera looking only at that still.

What is the ship at the bottom of the image which we would probably say is in the foreground? That other ship could be the same model.

The ship at the bottom is actually just part of the MC Cruiser, and as for the smaller ship, the Falcon flies behind it, well, it gives the impression of doing so anyway. Of course in the same battle there is a cruiser sized corvette so scale seems to have gone out of the window *L*

It's A Braha'Tok Class Gunship. Same Length As The Transport We Will Be Receiving Next Year. It Has A Cool Look, And Plenty Of Guns For A Ship Her Size.

That would make a great addition to the game..

Ok, i had no idea it had a name etc. Though it doesnt look 90 metres long in the scene. But who am i to argue

It really could be a great fit in the game.

Yeah it could...of course just about any cool looking ship fits.

I mean what did the Bothans fly around in?

They are mentioned as a helpful spy group, and if you are a nerd you know that they are lion people.

But...what did their ships look like?

Very cool! I like it!

Joe Boss, there are some mentioning of Bothans flying Y-Wings at some point, so really they could be pilots of any craft.

Anyway, I was wondering if someone could figure out the one odd ship in the Rebel fleet at the end of Empire. It looks like it has two big blue engine lights, but I've never seen any reference to it.

Yeah you are right, but I like to wonder.

What do Rodians have?

How about some of the other races?

I don't think it's a cool-looking ship. It's pretty clunky to my eye. What makes it a good fit is its role as an anti-starfighter, which could be interesting in play, and it's the right size. But the fact that it appeared on screen in Jedi makes it canon as far as I'm concerned, and that's an advantage this ugly little ship has over a lot of other candidates.

I agree. It isnt an attractive ship. but there is a shortage of canon medium craft that actually appear in the movies.

But after discovering this thing of beauty i think im going to scrap the idea iof making theBraha'Tok and make a non canon (obviously) ship based on this instead. Just because i think it is sad that something this groovy is rotting away.

Plus it appeared in Metal Gear which is always a good thing *L*

Now that ugly beast really is a thing of beauty. Looking forward to whatever you come up with. Kitbashing and customizing is always cool.

I should make it clear that there are a lot of canon Star Wars ships that don't look that awesome (most of the Rebel capital ships), but the fact that they're in the movies makes them awesome. What I really like about the Dornean gunship is that we aren't sure what it's capable of, or exactly where it came from, but we can be pretty sure that it's useful because it's part of a battle fleet. It sparks my imagination, like how I used to think about Boba Fett before the Prequels gave him a stupid backstory. You know, he was just this mysterious badass, and his costume indicated this whole world of bounty hunting that we hadn't seen before.

Anytime you can find that in Star Wars, you're doing something great. This ship kinda does that, so it's a very good find.
