The Great Debate #19: What expansions do you have?

By Guest, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

I'm curious of to how many people have which expansions, and also what is the most popular expansion?

Here is my (current) set, in the order of which I bought them:

And the order of which I'm planning of buying the expansions I'm yet to have:

What about you?

Previous Great Debates

I have them all! I bought them in the same order than they were published (my basic set is the 1st edition). I would be upset not to have a complete set and realise later that the missing ones are out of print. I feel this only for Arkham though. I have Runebound and do not plan buying them all (only the "small expansions").

All but KH! Dunwich Horror would be my #1, CotDP #2, with BGotW next, KiY languishing at the bottom.

My first and maybe still favorite expansion was "The King In Yellow", soon followed by the "Dark Pharaoh".

Somehow I was patient enough to wait until the german release of Dunwich before I bought it, so that one came pretty late. Next was Kingsport and finally the Black Goat.

I have them all. KiY was my favorite. But BGotW is a close second. I havent played with it enough yet to know if it's really better.

I have them all and think that Dunwich really broadened the overall experience so thet one gets my vote.

everyone have them all except me :(

I'm brand new. So heres my question can you play with all the expansions at once?

Yes, you can.

You'll have some strange situations and wicked card cominations sometimes, but it's still a lot of fun ;D

I only have the big expansions, DH and KH. While DH is clearly the best of the two, KH has several elements that I wouldn't want to be without.

I couldnt live without them. I bought them all the moment i saw them, which is as soon as they became available as I watched the shopfront like a hawk and always place orders for new ones at my LGS. They know what I want before I call. Everything stops the week they come in. The phone is disconnected and switched off. All the sharp angles in my apartment are rounded, and I climb into a perfectly smooth spherical chamber with plenty of smoke, coffee and several days supply of rations.

Dunwich gets my vote.

ALL OF THEM. And Innsmouth on pre-order.

I prefer playing with them all—except with newbies. My two new victims are ready for the full-on flood now, I believe.

Dunwich is my favorite, of course. Dark Pharaoh is my favorite small-box.

All but if I could go back in time I would only buy DW and KiY.

Our group currently lacks KH and CotDP. I am anticipating those, but I might have to buy AH and DH first, because I'm going to be moving away from our friends who own those. I can't imagine the game without Madness/Injury, the lovable Dunwich Horror, and several fun investigators.

Absolutely. Isn't it funny how you get used to being able to choose how you get beat up?

btw by "popular" I meant the expansion that's owned by the most players, not favorite. there's already a great debate on your favorite expansion.

carry on.

I have all of them, of course! We usually play with all of them, too. Sometimes we will break it down into specific combos when we want to explore something.

I think my two favorites are Kingsport and the King in Yellow. Dunwich is great, but needs some tweaking so it plays well with others. Someone either here or on BGG had a great suggestion about separating the DH Mythos cards, adding the Act cards, and then having 1/3 of all Mythos draws be from that deck. That would keep the Dunwich board about as active as it'd be without other expansions added. I think we'll try that next time.

All of them, and I can't wait to get Innsmouth.

F UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!

I have them all ;') **** is envious, he tries to hide it behind brash words. Either that or he's insane :') a theory which his playing of Arkham confirms.

I think that's very doable. Although I would be kindof sad to not have CotDP (I love the other world AO appearances, and the allies, and the exhibit items).

I'm a newbie, I just bought Arkham Horror last week, but right now I'm addicted. I spend my free time after work with my gilfriend and with my brother, trying to defeat those monsters...:)

So I only have Arkham Horror, and I already ordered Curse of the Dark Pharaoh, it takes like 30 days to arrive...

We plan to get all the expansions, but not all of them at the same time, 'cause it would be far too complex for us, beginners...:)

Dark Pharaoh is the best one to get first. It increases the difficulty and the complexity by the smallest increment.

I have them all. I definitely plan to get Innsmouth.

We usually start with one expansion, either curse of the Dark Pharaoh or Dunwich and then my little Arkham Advertiser usually reveals at least one more nefarious activity such as:

"King in Yellow Opens tonight!" Add nine King in Yellow Mythos cards to the top of the Mythos deck.

or

KINGSPORT RIFT ACTIVITY INCREASES. Add 6 cards from the Kingsport Mythos to the top of the Mtyhos deck and if Kingsport was not previously active add Rift Progress markers to the rift tracks equal to the number of doom tokens to a maximum of 9.

All of the Gate cards and Encounter cards are jumbled together however, so in that case you never know what will happen.

All but CotDP.

And got them in the order they came out ..

Since getting the base game, I added King in Yellow, Dunwich Horror, then Kingsport Horror. I have no plans to add CotDP, but plan on getting BGotW at some point. Innsmouth Horror though is already on pre-order.
