Ok, quick question. i live in the uk, I may as well be a million miles away from My nearest game shop so i do most of my game shopping online. I know I've come to the Descent 2nd edition game a little late as its been around now for about 15 months or so. I bought the core box 2 weeks ago. decided i really enjoy the game. ( i'm about halfway through the first campaign). So i thought i'd "catch up" and bought the three expansions that are out at the time i'm writing this.

heres my problem.

i went to buy the 6 lieutenant packs from amazon uk today. turns out 2 are out of stock completely, and the others are priced at double the price of the RRP. Is this right? can they even do that?

Anyway, I just wanted to know is anyone else from the uk having the same issues i'm having in tracking the lieutenants down for a good price? its not even like their OOP. Are we likely to see them go back into stock in the uk shops? I really hope so. or am i gonna have to take the plunge and import them and pay through the ears for shipping?

Any input would be great.

I live in the UK too and found the same issues as you. I have got two from Amazon but found them over priced imo. My opinion is this is just a pre Christmas shortage for obvious reasons and they should come back into stock after a specially small number were sent to the UK. Might be worth trying pre ordering from Amazon or i use oggames as they seem a lot more honest. The next batch are the ogre and the dragon on the 13th then the LoR after Christmas. If you want them pre Christmas I don't think short of jetting over too the US your not going to get them in time so probably best just to wait. (if you are please give me q shout as i wouldn't mind you picking me up some.

MSRP (RRP, perhaps over there) is just a suggested retail price. No one is obligated to sell it at that price point, as far as I know. Those who raise the price usually end up losing business when people shop elsewhere though.

Keep in mind, though, that you may be looking at the Amazon marketplace, where end users are listing items for re-sale, and not at Amazon's own stock. It seems to be becoming trendy on the internet for people to buy up all the regular stock in a game line just to re-sell it at inflated prices "second-hand."

I would suggest waiting for a reprint. The LT packs literally just came out, there's no way they won't be reprinted.

I've come across the same problem. They were probably all snatched up on release, so I think we're going to have to wait for a reprint for any reasonable prices, though by the sounds of it they're going to go quickly as well.

Quick update: I have to pick up my girlfriend from the train station tomorrow afternoon. the station just happens to be close to only game shops anywhere near me. 3 of them pretty much all next door to each other. So it wont hurt to have a quick look see if they have any in stock.
