Enter the Unknown has shipped

By Grimmshade, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

I have ordered all mine so far from Amazon, and always had those messages upto the point the book actually arrived. It's annoying.

Once Esdevium have it I would assume its ready to hit the retailers.

If I'm really, really, REALLY lucky, I'll have it before Christmas... perhaps even before new years.

So it looks like Canada (I'm from Ontario as well. Muskoka actually, if anyone is interested in gaming) and the states are enjoying the love of hard copy, but the UK is dismally behind in the shipment.

Any changes? Anyone else from around the world hugging their copy tightly to their chest with glee?

I'm a big fan of CSI for all of my rpg and board game purchases, but I think I will stop being cheap and step up my shipping choice. 12 days to get it from Florida to Georgia via SmartPost. That's a failed astrogation check if I've ever seen one.

Waiting here twiddling my thumbs in the UK too...

Just out of curiosity, do American sites like Miniature Market that have it in stock not ship overseas? I'm sure it would cost an arm and a leg, but if you really wanted it sooner rather than later...

Mine showed up in the mail today.

Seems that the USPS and I have different notions on "2 Day Priority" seeing as how it shipped on Friday. Unless they're no longer counting Saturday as a shipping day (which could be the case I guess if they're trying to cut costs any way they can).

Also, the art is great (as usual). I particularly liked the image on page 89. And there are plenty of Indy references in the book, such as Iconic Archeologist Duros as well as the woman on page 17. Even looks to be a bit of a Prince of Persia nod with the Twi'lek adventuress on pages 40 & 41. Plus, Oskara makes a return appearance.

SmartPost is quite possibly the most ironically named shipping option ever. I hate it with a passion, and is why I usually wait till I have the $100 for the free shipping. Then I get my stuff in 2 days in VA.

I generally save up for that as well with my board games, but I pretty much pre-order the Star Wars books the second they hit so I don't have to risk waiting on a second printing, which I've had happen in the past. I just need to pony up and not use SmartPost again.... although I've already got Suns and the Hired Gun splats pre-ordered ><

Shouldn't be long now before amazon droids will deliver your copy of Star Wars rule books direct to your door! How long can it be before we have lightsabers? Woooooohooooooo!

Just had an email showing it as available with the main UK distributor, Esdevium. Retailers should be getting it any day now.

***** shooting with prizes. Awesome!!

Sigh. I can't even order it now as I am about to leave the country for three weeks. I will be sure to order it when I get back. Maybe Suns of Fortune or even Dangerous Covenants will be ready by then and I can double up on Star Wars goodness.

Just picked up my copy yesterday from work. So far I'm loving it. I am especially interested in being a player again, even though that may not happen, so that I may be an Archeologist. Tons of new ships added to the market which I'm sure my group of players I'm GMing for will love considering they are about two or three sessions away from a huge paycheck... If they find the right stuff for their employer. I really like the design of the YT-560. Having the cockpit in the middle makes more sense to me.

And the new races. So glad that they have included Chiss into the list. It's human features, but with just enough alien dashed in there.

hey guys to let people that live in london know orcs nest should be getting the book in on the 17/12/13 i may end my order with amazon and get if from there

its the busy season for usps so 1 day delays are common and just really depends which trailer it gets on if it comes on the last trailer chances are it will miss the delivery day (i know cause ive done alot of usps work as a truck driver)

So I finally got Enter the Unknown today!

Through a supreme effort of will I wrapped it as a christmas present to myself, before even opening it. I did the same with the Essential Atlas I also got for myself! Christmas will be good this year. :D

You guys! :D

I hate you guys.

Keep Calm

&

let the hate

flow through You

You mention something that's near and dear to my heart, being that I am also a Forever GM. Go ahead and make your "player characters" and run them as occasional allies for your group! I have created several npcs in this manner and it's been a blast. Basically just level them up right alongside your players. Build them into your setting and story and go for it. I don't bust them out all the time, and certainly when I do it's one more thing to balance and keep up with, but I knew that at some point GMing this thing over the next several years that I was going to want to "play" a bit, too :) It scratches the itch, at the very least.

I can also say that having one of these characters killed in game can get the players to sit up and take notice.

I had to get MM to split an order for me, but they were quite friendly and prompt. Got my copy yesterday, but have yet to crack it open. Real life can cause problems at times.

Got mine in the post yesterday and just in time for Christmas.

Finally cancelled my Canadian Amazon 'preorder' and picked it up at the FLGS (401 Games in Toronto), who incidentally are featuring all rpg books at 10% off right now.

Stickin' it to da man! :D

Still no news from Amzon.co.uk

This is killing me!
