How does Intelligence Agent Help You?

By Englishpete, in X-Wing

This crew card kicks in at the activation phase, but at this point all dials are set, so how does knowing where an opponent will be help you if you can't react to it?

I can see it with Fett and I can see it for dropping bombs but is that the extent of its use?

Bombs, Fett, Navigator, Boost, Barrel Roll, Advanced Sensors... Even action selection - if you know he overshot you, you might as well take a TL since he can't shoot you.

Well knowing that you are going to end up in an opponent's arc can help you decide if you want to take defensive maneuvers or not, either a focus instead of a target lock or too boost/barrel roll away when you might otherwise not have. The information won't always be useful but it can give you a slight edge at times. And it also combos well with navigator.

Not at all. It also helps any ship that has Boost or Barrel Roll. This means you can try to boost or barrel roll lower PS ships out of or into firing arc. You can also foul enemy movement this way. You know where they are going to end up, so you can drop a ship right into that spot using one of those actions.

Other than that, it can be really helpful for planning other actions. If you see your enemy is going to be out of arc, you can target lock or focus. If you are going to be in arc, you may want to instead evade or take some other action.

If you have one extra point and an open crew slot, it's worth it.

Thx folks, I really had a mental block on that whole card.

Now I see it's usage.

You can potentially use it offensively to block, by barrel rolling PS1 Academies in front.

Another useful thing is if you have a ship that has Advanced Sensors equipped then you can boost or barrel roll before your movement.
