No news is bad news... so here is news

Well,

It is 7 months old (about the time they started announcing wave 3- so relatively, it's still newish) so not really news but gives me some hope that both the new movies and our beloved minis game will have some new things to draw from. Sounds like Game of Thrones in space... and that's fine by me.

If most of the fighting takes place on planet this could also lead to the "ground game" some have been calling for. I still don't know where I stand on that.

What do you think of a turn into atmosphere? There are some cool things to do but obviously once we leave space we leave a lot of icons.

I think the premise of this sounds really cool. To begin, I actually like that the leader of the Union Imperials is much more grey than straight up black aligned, so actually seeing some tenuous alliances between the Republic and Union forces sounds amazing, if you ask me. I also find it pretty interesting that Jedi are feared and shunned by the galaxy as a whole for something they don't quite understand, or simply having been lied to for decades under Palpatine's rule. Overall, I like this idea, even if the enemies are droids which... kinda weakens my interest a bit, but hey.

As for it being on the ground... fine? I mean this is Star Wars: they'll have to have starfighter or at least in atmosphere aerial battles at some point. It would be crazy to have something this action packed without it.

Will this affect X-Wing? That's entirely up in the air. This game only has 6 ships per side so far, so whether this will change anything is completely anyone's guess. We don't even know if we'll see something from Star Wars Rebels which would honestly be more appropriate for this game (probably). With the timeline being further built and expanded upon in the near future we as fans have a lot to look forward to. :3

The site GeekTyrant is very much a rumor mill. I won't believe anything unless it is confirmed by Disney or a principle actor. As for the story... I think it's pretty bad. Droids again? One rumor from that site that was a pretty cool idea (to me) was that the emperor had a new apprentice in the wings. You could tell he did not have complete confidence in Vader starting in Empire, so it makes sense that he was grooming another. Flash forward 30 years where the republic has been rebuilding confidence throughout the galaxy - the Jedi are slowly rebuilding their ranks - the new sith lord has been building an army and threat. I have no idea what that threat really could be... not another Death Star, not political intrigue, something very insidious. Planting sith within the republic, ready to strike alongside some kind of outside force.

Ah well... I am sure we all have our own idea of what the next thing in the SW universe will be!

This is interesting in many ways. My first impression is that it sounds pretty targeted towards children, which I wish they would not do so much. I'm glad to see things from EU getting tied in like the Chiss. I find the character Kala Calrissian to be a little formulaic. But that being said there is a lot of potential here.

Something that I would like to see is more space battles, Space Operas need to take place in space sometimes. There needs to be better bad guys, they tried the droid thing in the prequels and it sucked. I do like the fact that Luke, Han, Chewie, R2 and C3PO are not front and center so that the universe can expand further. I'm sure they'll occasionally tie those characters in.

I still think that the Heir to the Empire trilogy should be made first. Wishful thinking.

I don't believe it, myself. They already have an animated series going: Star Wars Rebels. Why would they make another one at exactly the same time?

Did you notice that this was posted 7 months ago, long before the official announcement of Star Wars: Rebels? Did you notice that the linked sources are invalid links or recursive references?

Move along, nothing to see here...

i smell a hoax. something this revealing about key characters and story arc would be a closely guarded secret and probably worth a bit of money to the right buyer/publication. Why release it for free?

I did notice it was from long ago but figured we're lacking much news newer than that here anyway... It did sound cool and it was a bit odd when Rebels was announced. But it did sound cool.

so without further ado... any news about Rebels?
