I have Cosmic Patrol. With the right group I think EotE could absolutely rock played in this format. Very little if any modification of the rules would be needed, love those narrative dice results. With the wrong group I think it would be a train wreck. The biggest challenge would be adventure design. Part of what makes Cosmic Patrol work is that adventures are not fully scripted and plotted in advance.

if anyone takes a stab at adapting/homebrewing some type of fusion of the two systems, i'd love to take a look.
