Weapon/Ship Attachments, and Stun.

By Hamster Friend, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

A few questions:

  1. Can a blaster rifle fit both a Multi-Optic Sight and Telescopic Optical Sight? The Telescopic's clearly a scope and...I'm not too sure on what the Multi-Optic is.What's an "on-weapon optic"?
  2. Weapon attachments are clearly stated to be swappable (a.k.a. you can move your grenade launcher form one gun to another). Is this also the case with ship attachments?
  3. Does a blaster (rifle) on stun setting also deal strain damage to droids, or do you really need to use ion weapons for that? Follow-up: Are there any non-ship ion weapons other than the Ionization Blaster?

1 - Well, depends. I'd say perhaps. I mean, it is a bit much, but I guess you could make an argument for the two being linked, for an extra 200 credits ;) Let sound reasoning guide you. I mean, having both doesn't mean you get both benefits, necessarily... unless they're linked or connected somehow.

2 - I have no idea. Never really thought about. Some I'd say yes, others perhaps not. Shield systems perhaps, but increased armour? I doubt it. Sound reasoning should dictate, not rules.

3 - No, it does not deal strain damage to a droid, you need the ionization blaster for that. Currently I don't think there are any other character scale ion weapons, but there could be in the adversaries chapter.

first off where does it say in the book that weapon attachments are swappable? I don't see it.

Oh snap, my bad. I misread the part about easy installation (p. 187). Sorry!

Either that or I read it somewhere else that's not in the book, but yeah. Honest mistake.

Droids take strain from blasters set on stun. The big thing of the ionization blaster is it does more damage, and has Disorient on top of it.

Ionization blaster only damages driods. It is harmless to organic beings. It does strain damage since it is "stun" damage. All weapons on stun setting do strain damage to everyone/thing.

I know. I'm not sure how my post needed clarifying, unless I implied that the ionization blaster could do strain to organics.

Your post didn't really need clarifying, I was more building off of it. There were several posts that were saying/implying droids ignore stun damage from the other weapons, I was trying to agree with you. (And I was trying to highlight that ionization blasters only damage droids, since it is a trade-off for the increased damage).
