No, most of the ones i posted were our minis, We had a couple of the mechanical collection ships and they are things of beauty. But the Yukikazes and one of the Early battleships were the only actual Japanese minis. The rest are originals. We had started playing when we saw the first trailer for the new animated series. and it inspired us to go into overdrive making different ship classes for the EDSF though these are all pre wave motion era ships.

Cool man! Yeah there will be new Comet Empire models late in 2014 I think... Then we will also see the Wave Drive Ships for Earth's Defense Forces.
JBRS,
I wanted to thank you for bringing me up-to-date about StarBlazers. I remember watching the series after school when I was a kid. Unfortunately, I have not kept up with it.
First, can you tell when the Bandai 1/1000 models are being released and where you are ordering them from.
Second, is the Yamato 2199 anime available in the states?
I have a Roku 2 and StarBlazers is currently available on the Manga channel.
Thanks
Most happy to share with guys like you, that chewed some of the same dirt I did.

I ran home to watch this show as a kid too...hurry up you slow school bus you!

The funny thing is you ask me where to buy from, and I was literally just repacking the brand new model kits I got today.
Go to GUNDAM Planet for all of the current models.
This is an American company out of New York. They are the real deal. Packaging was excellent, and shipping was two days. Be sure to get $100 order in and you get free shipping, this is what I did.
The entire range of models seen in the NEW Yamato 2199 series will be made in 1/1000 Fleet Scale so we can have everything in the series on the table in the coming year, but there are already a lot of sets available right now!
![]()
The new models are sometimes on back order, but they seem to be on the ball. There are several new models coming out in 2014 too!
The DVD set is on it's way to us also.

Check out my PM I will send you for some more info...

We went a different route than the metal minis.

Ok, ok....I am now on the Shapeways express. Those are fantastic....Wallet, here we go again....

How about this site for Star Blazer miniatures? They look really small scale, but being small, can have lots of ships on the table. Once Christmas is over, and I get all my X-Wing minis, I will have to come back to this site and start buying a ship or two. Anyone buy from these guys? If so how was it?
Come on FFG, get the licence for Star Blazers so you can even have more of my money. I swear I will starve and not buy food, so I can give you more money if you do Star Blazers. ![]()
It is fun...no matter what models you use. There are still some Star Blazers Fleet sets on eBay too, for like $50, with five ships in a set, that is awesome.
I almost went that way, but I think that these new 1/1000 scale kits will play out great since most of them are six to nine inches long, on a 4X6' table, that is going to be fun fun fun.

I just got in my Yamato and the four ship set of EDF Fleet group number two...hot ding-a-dang-dangies!
Thank you you wonderful postal carrier you!

My First STAR BLAZERS Order IS Here!!!
![]()
I watched episode 26 again today, for the third time...and still cried like a baby.
![]()

Yeah...sometimes I am a big sappy dope.

I started the long but fun journey to making the STAR BLAZERS Game Cards this weekend.

Fun...but by the time I am done with this, The Comet Empire remake will be playing in Japan.

Christmas was good this year. I got my first three YAMATO 2199 model kits. Now that I have them I am going to be better able to work on The X-WING Conversion for The STAR BLAZERS Rules I think. Also now that I have the tiny 1/1000 scale fighters, I am not going to dip& dap and wonder what will hap, with 3D sculptors or the mess that is Shapeways printing. No thanks, I can use the official models.
![]()
These are some **** cool kits my freinds...wow!

The full article is at B6*R7.
![]()
Probably better that way. I was having issues trying to make fighters small enough to work but still detailed enough to be worth having
Yeah man, they are not going to print anywhere that you or I can afford, they are very small.
BTW, I know a few 3D Sculptors, and none of them felt they could do what I wanted. Thanks for chating with me about it. I do like your work a lot. I have recently seen the previews of forthcoming Garmillas ships, and they include the main planes I wanted you to make.
![]()
I put together a decent little article about The NEW YAMATO 2199 Models coming in early 2014, check it out at B6*R7...it is more than a little cool I think.
![]()

There is my Garmillas Fleet!
Oh Baby!
![]()
I love most of the Gamilon ships, but those carriers are truly things of beauty
...and they come with over 160 Fighters & Bombers, if you buy all three.
![]()
Me might buy dem all.

![]()
At least one of each.
 ![]()
Hello!
This is an amazing project!
I am veritechc from The Black Ocean a Sci Fi wargaming web site. I am also a rabid Star Blazers fan! I will be watching this closly and putting this up on our Facebook page.
I would like to offer you a place to host files for this for free!
You can email me at [email protected] and we can chat more. I am VERy excited about this!
Cool Brother!

Have you looked at converting Star Trek Attack Wing? i havent played it but i was thinking that since it is based on capital ship combat rather than fighters it might be usable.
I don't know anything about it Gossie. I figure since the Capitol Ships die as fast as Fighters, it would serve the feel of the 2199 era to just have X-WING Rules. I want the game to play fast and fun...but I will make good use of ALL rules published by FFG, and that means their Epic Capitol Ships Rules, that we are about to have in hand. I am going to get a copy of the old Star Blazers Technical Manual too.
What are your ideas on it Bro?
![]()
As I said, when these Capitols go after each other, they die in one to three hits just like the little fighters do in dogfights...thus X-Wing Rules.
![]()
I'm more concerned by maneuvering. In ST-TNG the capital ships may move like fighters but Yamato there is a clear difference and im wonderring how that will be simulated. Also i think there should be one ship on each side at least that doesnt die so fast in order to give it the epic feel
This type of fighting is what the rules need to bring to life on our tabletops.

Reguarding my one to three hit kills, that was reffering to when The Yamato shoots...LOL!
![]()
In the game your typical ships can take three to six hits, while a large ship would take say ten to twenty hits.
How is that?
![]()
And speaking of the Yamato. How will it figure into the game. Talk about an unbeatable ship. and that is without the use of the WMG.
10 to 12 hits sounds good for a hero ship although at the tech level of current EDF ships Gamilas ships are not exactly a pushover. Once the second gen battleships start coming out of Earth that will be a different matter.
In our Yamato inspired game we poor saps in the EDSF were getting our asses handed to us every time we encountered the Gorgol until we got the first of the ships with the reverse engineered warp and weapons systems.
This is the only problem with converting a system acurately in this time period. EDF = cannon fodder and there is only one Yamato which is one of the reasons we did ours in an alternate universe.
We wanted to keep the EDF ships and add some of our own but the Yamato unbalances everything once it hoves into view. Which works in a tv show but not so much in a game so we left the Yamato out (sacreligious as that is) and allowed the ships of Sixth fleet (us) to build a legend around themselves culminating in the eventual focus on crew of the Avenger and Lorelei.
Still. It is always nice to see Gamilas ships mopping the floor with White Comet.
How are fighters going to engage capital ships in your system? Short of ramming them there wasnt a lot they could do in ours unless they were the torpedo bombers.

If I answer your points properly I will be writing a book right here and now.
![]()
Let me leave you with a half answer, as I am still working on the rules.
![]()
For the early days...tough cookies, YES you will often get mopped!
All you can do is fire every last cannon round, missile, and torp that you have, until the Gamies shields fizzle, then you can use your lasers.
If anybody is still alive that is.
![]()
The Fighter-Bombers are your second best tool, as they can needle that ass with their mean little missiles too.
I am going to put wave after wave of them on X-Wing bases, and tear some asses up. I am going to get some cast in white metal, and use the plastics too to do this. The X-Wing bases are no problem to use because when I am playing STAR BLAZERS, I ain't playing X-WING...
THE YAMATO?!

Dat we talk about later...
( I will say this, when you use that glorious b*@#h, well she is a single gal for a reason.)
![]()
Thirty-three ships ought to be enough for me to have a few battlefield options I reckon...
![]()
Then there are the squads upon squads of Fighter and Fighter-Bomber Planes.
