Firing arc misprint, is this common? *picture*

By Shrike37, in X-Wing

During a game a couple days ago, I was measuring a firing arc with Luke Skywalker. It was pretty darn hard to call. So I got down real close and and tried to eyeball it better and I just barely missed by a millimeter, or less. However, I noticed that Luke's printed firing arc is smaller than what it is supposed to be! It looks like a misprint to me, see pictures below.

I was going to just measure the firing arc from the edge of the corner like it is supposed to be. However it looks like the inside end of the arc is in the wrong spot too. The inside end of the arc is closer to the center of the model than it should be. If I used that inside end point and the corner of the template point to base my line from, then I would have too wide of a firing arc. As it stands I have too narrow of a firing arc. In the above mentioned game, I am very confident I would have hit if the arc would have been correct.

I went through my models and found 4 more that have a similar misprint! My questions are:

1. Is this common?

2. How to deal with this in future games?

Thanks

It's just shifted over a bit, It should work out the same area as the arc still leaves through the front edge of the base

...Yeah, no. I'd suggest he gets different placards!

in a game where millimeters matter, thats worth fixing/replacing.

If you have a friend who has a coupke starters ask him to let you have one.. or trade him for it.. not really worth 'fixing' just get a new one that isn't shifted. Heck.. I could send you one if you can't find one locally..

we actually don't know how common or uncommon this is. I would guess uncommon, but the forum population, I blieve, is small compared to all players of x wing.

I should double check my own. You should be able to find people with extras as was suggested.

I haven't had any arcs like this that I've noticed and I have a fair few.

I would message FFG parts replacements. They should send you some new ones as these have dubious playability.

It looks like there was a misalignment between the cardboard sheet and the cutting tool.

FFG would send you a new base if you contact them. They are really good to there customers on here.

Oh my. Now I need to check all of mine. But yes, as was suggested, definitely contact FFG. I know I will if any of mine turn out to be misprinted. They should be able to send a replacement.
