Noise Workshop Questions:

By Dydra, in Android: Netrunner Rules Questions

Hey people I have a few questions about Noise workshop and PW in general

1) If PW gets trashed during a corp turn ( Character Assassination , tag + click ) , on paper, you are ABLE to pay up the programs and put them out , but because it's the Corp's turn, their actions take priority over yours.

I know that when there are 2 paid abilities, the person who's turn it is, has priority on his actions over the person who's turn it isn't.

Now the thing is that Character Assassination isn't exactly a paid ability so does this rule apply?

In the case when you get tagged + click , I guess you are allowed to use the paid ability window that you have AFTER the tag, to pay up the things on the Workshop. Correct? ( which is often ignored in play, because people are like "score breaking news - trash trash " or smt like that)

2) My second question is about

( the new card in Second Thoughts) , I watched the review of the pack on Team Covenant and they said that the programs hosted on the card DON'T count against your total Memory limit.

Is that correct?
Like a Djinn, but with limitless slots?

1) Character Assassination won't give a chance to pay off your PW once the final advancement is placed. Scoring an agenda happens with the same timing priority as paid abilities. However, between advancements the runner may choose to spend credits if they suspect a Character Assassination incoming.

2) If that was the case, it would be on the card, as with Djinn. Scheherazade makes no mention of saving MU, so the MU for hosted programs count toward you limit as normal.

Is it possible to use Cyber Feeder to install Viruses OFF Personal Workshop?

My friend argues, that it isn't installing, but a paid ability, so I can't use the Cyber Feeder

Your friend would be correct. Paying to remove power tokens from a program currently hosted on Personal Workshop is not installing. It only becomes an installation when the power tokens are all removed, and at that point there is no installation cost remaining, so by the time you could use cyberfeeder, there is no cost left to pay.

The same rule also prevents Kate from getting any additional saving from Personal Workshop - once it's on the 'shop, there's no 'install cost' to be discounted. There is only the cost (or the turn-by-turn wait) to remove power counters.

Thanks :)

1) Yeah. The Corp can score Character Assassination during the Paid Ability window and nuke your Personal Workshop. So if NBN has a card in a Server with three Advancement Counters, better think about clearing your Personal Workshop. If NBN has a card in a Server with *two* Advancement Counters and a card that might be SanSan City Grid, better think about clearing your Personal Workshop.

Note that if the Corp says "Score Breaking News, Trash", you are entitled to tell them to go back since you are entitled to use Paid Abilities before they trash your stuff.

2) Scheherezade says nothing about MU, so Programs hosted on it count against your MU. I suspect what they meant was that if you Host Datasucker on a Scheherezade that is Hosted on a Djinn, the Datasucker counts against YOUR MU limit and not Djinn's because the Datasucker is not Hosted on the Djinn.

Is it pos sible to use Cyber Feeder to ins tall Viruses OFF Personal Workshop?

My friend argues, that it isn't installing, but a paid ability, so I can't use the Cyber Feeder

Your friend is correct.
