I was up against the following:

I arranged my fighters with Wedge and Luke in front with Biggs behind and in the middle in a very tight formation. His ships were spread out pretty evenly, except for Vader who was over to the right a bit.

I decided to attack the Saber Squadron Pilot first, because Vader was hanging off to the right and SSP was the heaviest member of his squad. We got in a slight tousle, but as luck would have it Wedge someone missed all his shots. Luke scored a couple of hits, and Biggs wasn't able to do any damage. I went into a K-turn on all of them, getting up behind his group and shooting at one of the Avenger Squadron Pilots. The Force was with me this time though. I managed to one-shot the luckless pilot, then I went after SSP again. Biggs got off a pot shot on Vader and took out one of his shields, but Luke and Wedge were able to destroy the SSP. Unfortunately Biggs' luck ran out. His Stealth Device had been destroyed by now, and even with R2-F2 helping it was too little, too late.

But with Biggs gone, I was more free to concentrate on maneuvering. He had taken a lot of the damage meant for Luke and Wedge too, so while two of his three remaining pilots had suffered damage, both my remaining X-wings were at full heath.

He spent the rest of the game trying to take out Luke and Wedge and failing miserably. The battle ended with both of them at full hull and Wedge missing his shields.

Not a bad night, all things considered.
