Couple of short questions

By HastAttack, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

Core Set Joffrey:

Response: After a Lord or Lady character is killed, Joffrey Baratheon claims 1 power. (Limit 3 times per round.)

If Valar is played and several lords and ladies are killed, does Joffrey claim 1 power for each (up to 3) or just 1 power

Epic Event Cards

I have played an epic phase event card, such that it is next to my plot card

Do such cards count as cards at my command?

thanks

one more question:

A bit trivial but in melee, if a defended decides to declare no defenders (or cannot do so) do people say "no defenders" or "unopposed" ...

(maybe that should read what is the correct term / etiquette as opposed to what people are actually saying)

I'd prefer to use "No Defenders" but, out of habit, we say Unopposed and this tends to cause people to jump straight into resolution actions ... which can be frustrating if there was a support opportunity or similar

I'd argue that Unopposed to is just an attribute with regards to the actual challenge resolution phase and therefore has no place during the earlier challenge steps

1) He would claim 1 power for each Lord or Lady that was killed... granted, if he can't be saved this turn, the power won't count unless it puts you to 15. If it was only one power, it would say "If 1 or more..."

2) Not sure what the precedent is on this one. I would tend to say no, because it is technically out of play and only sitting next to your plot deck as a reminder of the upcoming Epic Phase... I could be on the mark on this one, though. You may want to shoot a rules question to FFG to be sure.

It's up to the group. If your group has trouble skipping player action/support/redirect actions because of using the term "unopposed" when determining there will be no defense from the attacked player, you may want to make an unwritten rule in your group of using the term "no defenders" just to allow people to take their actions.

But, like I said, there is no official rule saying you have to state one or the other. I have people in my group that were big MtG and other CCG/TCG players, so they still use terms like "exhaust/tap" and "ready/untap" instead of "kneel" and "stand."

1. stormwolf is correct.

2. stormwolf is correct. It has been specifically ruled that having an Epic Phase event "in waiting" does not "turn off" Bear Island (as it does not have the Stark affiliation). Not interacting with other cards based on "revealed information" is a pretty solid indication that the card is not "at your command," either.

3. There is no formal or "official" convention. If people are jumping to resolution actions after the defending player says "unopposed," other players should be confident to say "back up, you skipped some stuff."
