Does attacking with a mechadendrite count as my one attack?

By CaptainTrek, in Only War Rules Questions

Hey guys

Welp, I'm considering building an offensively-minded Engineseer for an upcoming Only War game, and I noticed several types of mechadendrite can eat the character's Reaction for the turn in order to make an attack. Simple question, really, one that is, in fact, right there in the topic title... does an attack made in this way count against the one attack action a character is allowed to make during the turn or does it not?

No, it uses your Reaction though meaning obviously that you can't Dodge or Parry.

Unlessyou use it as your main attack.

Basically you have three choices

1. Attack with main weapon, use mechadendrite to make another attack, no Dodge/Parry

2. Attack with mechandendrite, don't attack with main weapon, can still Dodge/Parry

3. Attack with main weapon, don't attack with mechandendrite, can still Dodge/Parry

Unless you have Step Aside talent. It gives you extra reaction but you can only use it to Dodge/Parry.

So with this talent you could make action combos that Bogi_Khaosa mentioned but in action combo:

1. Can make dodge/parry

2. & 3. Add extra Dodge/Parry

Thanks, guys. For the particular character I'm building, losing my Dodge/Parry doesn't bother me, since he is relying on his Toughness, armour and subskin armour to soak up incoming fire.
