Sorry if I am posting this in the wrong section. My question is has anyone fought players using Trek factions instead of a SW faction? Do you think that their will be offical compitions were plyers using SW factions will face ST factions. Is this all leading up to a SW vs ST movie? lol
SW X-Wing vs ST Attack Squadron
I have not.
WizKids licensed the system for use with Attack Wing, but they are not the same game. There are a number of critical differences. Not the least of which is scale, since X-Wing focuses on fighters and Attack Wing on capital ships. I doubt there will be much in the way of official competitions because they are two different games by different companies that just have similar rules because of a licensing decision. No, it is in no way leading up to a Star Wars vs Star Trek movie, as these are owned by two entirely separate and hostile companies.
Are you implying that Disney and CBS don't get along?

What are the rule diffrences? I have watched some reveiws and they make it out that the only diffrence is scale and that ships get more abilities because of the crew.
I was just kidding however about the movie but I do feel its a conflict of intrest to have the guy that writes and directs Trek movies also write and direct Warzy movies. He might start throwing in some bits of facts that would cripple SW in a SW vs ST debate, facts only hard core fans would catch. This a joke but off the top of my head he could throw abit of info in their that makes it that the Death 2s targeting system is confused by objects with a sauser on it or are just a sauser and for safty reasons it will not allow the main gunner to fire at said objects.
Considering the guy already found a way to fit R2D2 into Star Trek, I wouldn't worry too much about the Federation taking on the Empire. That fight would be 3 things. Nasty, brutish, and short. Very, very short.
I'm guessing he won't be directing Star Trek 3, probably too much to do both.
You never know. Timing might work out for him. Also, a SW/ST cross-over wouldn't happen.
The two games are not balanced against each other. They may use similar rules, but the costs applied to each are too different to make work. In Attack Wing, the basic Academy Pilot would be overcosted by 2 pts.
Ship and upgrade cost would not be balanced and movement dials would benefit SW ships allowing them to fly rings around the Attack Wing ships (at least most of them).
Don't even get me started on the reusable torpedoes or the cloaking devices.
Edited by CrookedWookieWhats wrong with reusable torpedoes and cloaking devices?
In and of themselves? Nothing.
If you're talking about a balanced crossover, where one faction has none of the abilities that helps COUNTER cloaking technology, and who pays the same cost for torpedo launchers (and the like), but has to discard them after one shot?
Quite a lot, actually.
