If your point is "I don't like 33%, I wanted to see a 75% increase, why isn't the attack power of an Interceptor FIVE or something" the simple answer is: it would bone the game balance. Hard. So it's never going to happen. I apologize if that fact haunts you and keeps you up at night.

I don't even know how to convey to you the other point, which is that canon is slave to the needs of the narrative, and not the other way around. It is tweaked, cheated, or straight up ignored any time it's convenient to the needs of the writer/director.

If you honestly don't get that and think that they're handcuffed to canon, sitting in some writer's room going "curse my fate! I wanted Luke to survive this scene, but he was hit with a 9.3 laser cannon, and we all know that is a guaranteed kill. Why god? Why???" and not just "ok, so Luke gets winged by the Interceptor, we see some sparks and stuff, he shouts some technical nonsense at R2 about locking it down, next scene" I don't know what more I can tell you.

Yes but the whole point we're trying to make is that trying to use what happens in a movie or story isn't a good way to design a game rule, because the writers decide what happens based on what makes the best drama, not what makes the most sense.

The other guy though has turned this into one giant canon war, a long time ago like maybe the first page I said I would have to except the value given. And it could fit with canon if these are the type that use blasters and not lasers.

Instead this has been turned into a giant canon war That has gotten so bad that more than 5 people have decided to break FFG code of conduct and commit cyber slander

I watched a documentry about probability, dice rolling was part of it and all people do not roll the same.

Not sure what documentary you watched... But if it's trying to claim that a dice roll is based on the person rolling it, and not subject to the laws of probability. Well I think that says it all right there. I know at this point I'm done beating my head against this wall.

You have rejected good game design, ignored cases where canon doesn't support your argument, and even have now rejected the laws of probability... I see no reason to debate with someone who has left reality behind.

Again and for the last time. Regardless of any of your other "arguments" what you are asking for will not and should not happen. You can't give the kind of fire power you're asking for to the Tie Interceptor without having a price so high that you'd be able to field 1 of them in a 100 point list. To do otherwise would break the game itself.

I don't think that means what you think it means. The fact you don't seem to fully get the meaning of canon or how it's created to justify what's seen in the narrative and not the other way around is observation, not slander.

The fact that you don't seem to get the idea that they in fact did bump up the speed and firepower on the Interceptor to show it's an upgrade over a regular TIE, and that bumping it up any more than they already have (to a 4 or a 5) would break the game because it would be out of scale with everything else in the game, regardless of how you think it represents your understanding of canon...also not slander.

Heh, well if it had Morgan Freeman in it... I love Morgan Freeman but he's an actor who gets paid to read lines off of a script written for him. I'm not sure that makes him an actual authority on probability.

Listen man, you should lighten up. We talk about what ships abilities are, arguing about what "immediately after" means, and when missiles should be taken or not. We don't argue about the supreme awesomeness of the 9.3 cannon that blasts holes in battle cruisers or weather shields should protect ships at hyperspace velocities from nebula gas. If you are worried about it, just remove ships with shields when you shoot at them with interceptors because obviously, if they get, they should die.

I basically dumped this thread from my brain as not really rules-related, and only just today noticed that it was at 4 pages. I thought to myself "Oh! Maybe someone did come up with a new an interesting rules question, and it's gone to 4 pages of argument without me even being involved in it! Whatever could it be?!?!"
