Any chance that we'll see the limited release heroes go on sale again this year? Unfortunately, I missed last year's event.

I hope so! I only got Truthseer Kel, but I really want Jonas the Kind (and probably the other two if I have the money).

Looks like they have the sale, but nothing big for Descent fans (other than Sea of Blood for $5, which is 1e). I also noticed a lot of the first edition lieutenant minis are $5 on the FFG store, even big ones like Sweetheart and the Kraken (please, oh please, bring more first edition lieutenants back for second edition!). I guess their stock of the four promo heroes dried up.

So is Sea of blood worth getting if I don't own anything yet?

It's a ship based expansion for first edition so you really can't play with it. It comes with models and some characters though so if you have the conversion kit for second edition it's worth it for $5.

It comes with ONE model (Nara the Fang), assuming it's a first print run copy. Every copy I ever saw in stores included Nara, but that doesn't mean it's guaranteed that she'll be in the ones they're selling now.

You won't be able to use it as intended unless you have at least the 1E core box. Still, for $5 there are a lot of good ship-based tiles and tokens. If you have a kit-basher's heart, you could go places with those bits. And if Nara IS included, $5 is probably a good price just for her fig (sadly) compared to the prices I hear these things go for online.

I got all 4 promotional Herofigures in my local gamestore. i spent like 5 bucks and got the herofigure + descent 1e herosheet + runequst sheet + dungeonquest sheet.

he had all 4 in stock so i just took them with me...

maybe some good ol' searching would work wonders for u too =)

I ordered the Sea of Blood expansion from the Holiday Sale for $5, and it included the Nara the Fang character with her Descent and Runebound cards.

Aw, I was going to get Sea of Blood but the shipping is pretty high.
