I'm not putting too much stock into the release date. However, the tidbit about the Transport is fascinating.
"Recreate the drama of the Rebellion's desperate escape from Hoth and explore new adventures in the Star Wars galaxy with the Rebel Transport Expansion Pack for X-Wing! It comes with one huge, pre-painted GR-75 medium transport miniature and an X-wing escort. With rules for "energy" to fuel your shields and abilities, plus a new maneuver template that gives your transport the feel of a truly huge ship, the Rebel Transport Expansion Pack enhances your missions and Cinematic Play experience. It also opens all-new possibilities in the game's Epic Play format!"
So not only are the huge ships going to use a new damage deck, along with multiple sections of the ship you can attack and damage, we are getting "energy" and new movement templates.
Want.

Where are you seeing that? I see the bit about energy and new movement template, but nothing about damage decks and multiple sections.
**** another X-Wing to paint

They mentioned the damage decks in a previous post.
Anyone else buying it just for the cards? I know I am.

Yes, FFG mentioned them in their announcement of the Transport and Corvette on the site.
Yes, will have to get this just for the new xwing pilots
that price isn't horrible.. might just get one..
I'm getting it because I'm a dedicated Rebel player, and these things litter the Alliance fleet. I'm really looking forward to using it. I might even get two, eventually.
Miniature Market has both the Transport and Tantive IV listed for preorder. There wasn't a picture yet for the Tantive and the description is almost the same as the Transport.
So excited! Want profusely!
Excellent. This might just be my rebel list, since my imperial list is nothing but shuttles. Soft, helpless shuttles, just waiting for a victi... I mean brave raiding party, to attack.
I am definitely picking one up.
ok, now I am really courious!
New templates ... new deck ... new ... energy whatever management????
This reminds me on the Warhammer Steam Tank ... you produce steam points and you decide how to use them either to move this beast on the battlefield or to shoot one of his weapons or a mixture ...
Let me guess: as long as the ships reactor is undamaged it produce a certain amount on energy. This can wary with abilities or if you take chances and throw some dice to overstress it. The energy is used to move, to replenish shields to fire laser/blaster/turbolaser turrets and to activate other ships componentd like sensor arrays, traktor beams and stuff like this ...
Sounds very interesting. I can't wait to know more about it.
A pity there are only rebel ships ... but the good news is: I got my bombers ready to face .... whatever the rebels may come with
Ha, more Firespray fodder. More bounty's to be fulfilled. Clan Garn of Mandalor are waiting for your rebel scumminess.
I wish FFG would just come out and tell us how these ships work. I'm really excited and would like so more info. If they are coming in the spring then things have probably (but maybe not) been finalized in the gameplay. It would be really cool to learn how these big ships will work.
Also some info on the Aces and Wave 4 would be nice as well.
Really excited for the next wave of products to use in this game, just wish we had some info on the direction things are going.
Get to us when you can FFG.
Thanks.
I fully plan on putting in my pre-order around Chrismas. Was my plan to get these both for Chrismas anyway... Just now I'll spend the money sooner but get the ships latter I guess.
It would be nice to know more about the rules and such, but honestly at that price I couldn't pass them up, even if the rules and such are only so-so.
Star Wars background material claims that both the Rebels and the Empire make use of the GR-75 Medium Transport.
Same thing with the CR90 Corvette.
I hope they have both Rebel and Imperial "pilots" for these Huge ships.

Now there's a Capitol idea.. that would be awesome

Is it sad that I'm most excited at the prospects of new Crew cards and other upgrades? Probably. But I still want to get my grubby hooves on this.

The box is awful big. And I'm a little disappointed there isn't mention of a longer range ruler.
I'm actually wondering what else is in the box. That's a lot of space in there.
