YT-2400 build - a work in progress

By LegionThree, in X-Wing

Alright, figured Id cut up a Falcon for fun. Was going to do something like a 2000 or just a cockpit reposition but really wanted to do the 2400 when I was done looking at pics. So heres what Ive got so far. Still not painted up but think its about done as far as the modification goes.

Wow, that is freaking amazing, cant wait to see more.

Most impressize.

oh boy...this is what I call major surgery indeed! I almost feel really bad for the old Falcon but it's turning out great, keep up the updates!

Wow glad to see this is getting some hits. Here's the updates so far. It's by no means perfect or even close to show quality. But it was fun and is going fast.

Coming along very nicely!

May I ask about that central piece? The 2400 lacks that.

Looks very good!

Captain you're correct that the bump isn't present on the 2400. It was there from when I was going to put the cockpit centered and above the front of the ship. Just imagine a cockpit bubble on the front of the hump and you'll get the idea. I figured since I had already green stuffed it and glued it down is keep it to make it a unique 2400. Some smugglers observation port I guess.

Missile port?? maybe.. looks good so far

Wow... like it....

That black and red is sharp man!

Looks great

VERY cool stuff there! I used to build model cars but never did much with minis. Never played Warhammer, etc. I love this game and love the minis. Haven't tried my hand at customizing yet, but this is giving me the itch... ;-)

And I bought a "Blue" A Wing on eBay... $15 shipping included, so was no more than a "regular" ship at my FLGS and I didn't have an A Wing. That's made me think about other things now of course... :-)

Well I think its about as done as it is going to get. Still need to matte coat everything but that will have to wait till it warms up. Fast sloppy and fun, just right. Heres the group photos for your enjoyment.
