Getting back in the game.

By fryguy49, in UFS General Discussion

Hi there. After a long hiatus my friends and I are getting back into UFS. I am planning on running either a Cammy or a Guile deck. I was wondering how both of these decks play and what the critical cards are for either deck. We are planning on just messing around so we will not be restricting the use of older cards. I would appreciate any information anyone has on these two deck types.

Thanks for your time.

It depends on what version of each character you plan on using. ::Guile:: looks really nasty to me, particularly if you're playing Legacy (i.e. no restrictions on sets). I would play him on All (The red circle).

The power cards in the game right now for All are really on the expensive side, but there's a lot of staple commons and uncommons you'll certainly be able to afford. With that Guile especially I'd use Visions of Destiny and/or Heisheng Jian to make sure there's always an attack on top of your deck to reveal. Dragon Smash would be a fun attack to add to the mix too. Other common/uncommon foundations that are very strong for all are Bitter Rivals, Saikyo Ryu, Psycho Style, Fight or Flight and Lesser of Many Evils. For actions I'd look at Kung-Fu Training and Tag Along. For attacks Kuzuryu Reppa is outstanding. Then of course there's a lot of classics that you're probably familiar with already.

For Cammy I would lean towards ::Cammy:: and play her off Chaos. Chaos is a VERY strong symbol right now.

If you're playing Legacy there's some old and amazingly powerful cards on that symbol like You Will Not Escape and Whereabouts Unknown. More recently you get The Bigger They Are..., Mentally Unstable, Forethought and The Anti 'K. With her ability an opponent would have a VERY hard time building against her, particularly if she's used with some of those control check hacking cards (and even WORSE with You Will Not Escape). If you add Clean Freak to the mix, then you could have a very considerable advantage, particularly if you're careful in your deck construction to include lots of 5 and 6 checks. Another staple card worth mentioning for Chaos is The Red Lotus of the Sun.

Lastly, both decks would really benefit from a card called Olcadan's Mentoring... however it's certainly not a necessary one if you're both just screwing around.
