I went to my local game shop today for a tourney. We had 17 people show up and we ran 4 rounds Swiss style.

Any ties after 4 games were decided on strength of roster.

I ran:

Wedge, PtL, R2 Astromech (33)

Ibtisam, VI, Advanced Sensors (32)

Jan Ors, Determination, Nien Numb, Moldy Crow, Blaster Turret. (34)

Game 1 is a bit vague, I was up against Tycho with PtL and missile, B-Wing and 2 X-Wings

The X-Wings went down fast, followed by the B. Tycho was upto 5 stress tokens and got a TL and Focus on Jan, but Wedge 4 diced him for 3 hits and a crit. He saved one hit but the crit took his secondary weapon denying him the missile shot.

Jan still died, but that was all. Full win 5 pts.

Game two I was facing off against 4 academy ties and Fett with Gunner, Engine Upgrade, Seismic Charge and Expert Handling. As we closed in turn 3 I ended up with my ships at range 1 of the ties, one was already dead, one parked on an asteroid and the remaining 2 and asteroid tie died to intense fire.

The Seismic hit Wedge and Ibti, but that was about it and we hunted down and shot up Fett. None of my ships went down. 5pts

Game 3 was to be against my mate Rich who was running Han, Marksmanship, Gunner and 2 Gold Squadron Y's with Ion Turrets. We closed quickly and I brought everything to bare on Han. He went down in 2 turns, but it cost me Wedge. Then the Ions kicked in and I thought I was doomed, both my ships were ioned moving away from his Y's. Rich then had 2 hiccups, one Y parked on an asteroid and the other missed Ibti so I was able to turn. It was then a few more rounds of chewing down the Y's. I was ioned a lot, but we were in the asteroids and Rich couldn't get out of my fire arcs. 5 pts.

So it was game 4 and CJ was 3-0 as well. He had Han, Marksmanship, Gunner, Merc Co-pilot and 2 B's. I had no idea how I was going to take this out. We maneuver for a few turns and Han goes down, but I pay a high price with Wedge dead, Ibti without shields and badly out of position. Over the next few turns I get his B's down to one with 3 hull and 1 with 3 hull and 2 shields. Now however Ibti is dead and the Hawk looks forlorn. Over the next several turns I mange to jink and shoot and get him down to 1 hull and 3 hull but then my luck ran out and the hawk went down. 0 pts.

CJ played a great game with a fierce list and deserved his win.

In the end I was second and got a set of FFG stress tokens and a gift cert for the store. Also got alternate art Y-Wing and Black Squadron card as a participation prize as did everyone.

My list is brutal, it's ability to lay down intense fire exactly where I wanted it and the fact it shoots mainly first just overwhelmed my opponents. Sadly, Han and 2 B's was just a bridge 2 far, it matches me in firepower and just has hit points up the wazzu.

Most important was 4 great games against 4 great folks.
